Anybody like Spock for the upset over El Gallo?

All three of his losses have been split decisions, two of them against world class guys (Arthur Villanueva & Luis Nery)...

Mendez is a former sparring partner of Estrada's.

    Round 1

Estrada is strafing in either direction, crisscrossing the ring in front of Mendez and lightly jabbing the body after folding his upper half inside, then pulling straight out and resetting. Mendez is jabbing Estrada in the mouth and digging right crosses into the waist. Mendez busier, doing a lot more work from outside, and Estrada thus far has no compulsion to close the gap, content just to sharp-shoot and pick his spots even though Mendez is landing more. Feeling out round, but in the final minute both are starting to put together vicious short 2 & 3 punch combos. Straight flurry by Mendez before the bell.

    10-9 Mendez, close

    Round 2

Estrada is clawing his way in with short combos, first a blistering fast 1-2 up top and then a left upper-hook into the body while swooping to his left. Mendez getting hit but finding Estrada with counter jabs while stepping wide around him, occasionally following up with a right cross on the chest. Estrada ducks and weaves under a four straight punch combo from Mendez at mid-range, looking slick. Both ripping body shots when they can as they close together. Nice left rip downstairs by Mendez, causing someone in his cheering section at ringside to screech like an owl. 1-2-1-2 by Estrada, left hook by Mendez, swapping turns firing & landing.

    10-9 Estrada, close but clear

    19-19

    Round 3

Estrada is unloading some huge right hand leads down the pipe, etching his way in close with jabs and then quickly ducking and shimmying out in a crouch, forcing Mendez to reach downward and miss, then shooting counters up into his jaw. Estrada boxing very nicely, drawing the lead from Mendez and jumping in with jab & uppercut combos at point blank, forcing Mendez onto the backfoot momentarily. Body jabs by Mendez, caught on the forearms by Estrada. Mendez chased outside by a slingshot right hand off the hip, nearly clipping him if not for some rapid backpedaling and jerking of the neck.

    10-9 Estrada

    29-28 Estrada

One of the final ever "let's check in with Harold Lederman" moments ever...

He has it 30-27, thinking Juan Francisco Estrada is doing progressively better but has been landing the better shots all along.

He didn't say "I gotta tell ya..." or "Jim!" :ohno

Comp-U-Box allegedly has it, after three:

    Estrada 80 of 266
    Mendez 29 of 264

That really is, as Lampley says, a technical clinic.

What is going on with Max Kellerman? Is he sick or just emotional? He sounds like a monster.

    Round 4

Estrada is starting to dominate now, using an uppercut, roll under and right hand over the top. Mendez is fighting well but Estrada's class is showing, he's just that much better. Estrada is starting to press forward, nudging jabs into the belly and forcing the issue, rolling through Mendez's hacking combos and covering his body with his arms to screen out blasts on the body, and working combos on the chest, bringing some up to Mendez's chin.

    10-9 Estrada

    39-37 Estrada
