So let's sum up the night: Angulo is a good looking young prospect. Definitely looked great tonight in terms of spacing his punches and measuring his shots. Sergio Martinez looked like a bad create a boxer template for Joe Calzaghe but good enough to dominate Kermit Cintron. Funigga needs to give Paul Williams his beard back..but he's probably going to be a player at 135 if he leaves South Africa again. Nate at 140 might be risky business.
He physically couldn't. You saw in the 11th. Funeka was like one of those gazelles you see on African savannah TV specials, like "ok lion, I give up. just eat me". And Nate had over fifty seconds to get it done. And he was just on him like a blanket. Like he just heard his mom died. Shoulder to shoulder, 'it's okay man'. He literally could not raise his arms to throw a headshot out of fatigue IMO. A straight 1-2 would have netted the kayo.
nate will get clobbered at 140 anyhow so who cares although this fight was close but no way nate won by what those judgees had it. i had it a draw
Robbery is far fetched bro, but Ali put so much in and scored well. Nate the damn warrior he is, put in work, but man Ali took that fight.
Well the judge had it 6-6 and 7-5 for Campbell, you had it 7-5 Funeka so it's pretty close either way.
Kellerman can talk **** about "technically" this and "technically" that, but once that Referee waved the fight off, Martinez was declared the winner. Absolutely ridiculous.
Can't wait to score this tomorrow. The 3rd was close but I damn near gave every round to Funeka other than the 11th. The last round was close too. A rematch would be nice but is unlikely.
Nate ran out of steam in like the 4th round tonight. Stamina has been an issue with Nate, and is being inconsistent during fights. It all showed tonight. He won because of the KD's and the first few rounds and the last round. It was close, I feel for Funeka, but damn, you get knocked down twice you don't usually win.
I too am confused as to what the referee was doing when Cintron went down. Was he walking Cintron to his corner as a friendly gesture? When the ref has his hand up and is walking the fighter to his corner isn't that universal for "fight over?" In fact if you hear the ref he says something like "It's over" to Cintron right after Kermit says "He butt me."
