At the pro level, if you follow a guy, with your right hand down like that, standing straight up and down, with your chin up, someone is gonna ROCK you with a left hook one day and hit you the hardest you've ever been hit in your entire life.

Because that's what Kovalev is doing.

You make excuses for him all you want, but one day, that's exactly what's going to happen.

Honestly, I think Stevenson is probably gonna catch him with a short southpaw left hook and knock him out.

Kovalev has looked sloppy as hell his last two fights. He sticks his chin straight up in the air and drops his hand.

Looks like you just wanna make a hate case. I never saw Kov with hands down, chin up, and walking in, that'd be ridiculous. Maybe while Mohamedi was on the floor, is that what you're talking about?

Kovalev needs to stay away from Bieterbiev and Stevenson unless he gets back to working on defense and being smart.

The man has regressed since fighting Hopkins.

A clever boxer can taste their opponent's power and size up their patterns of attack inside a round if they want to. Where you place your guard isn't as important if you know exactly what punch your opponent is going to throw.

That aside, Kovalev is an animal and he was in there tonight with someone he had no respect for. He didn't make any mistakes against Hopkins - great boxers don't always have to be in top gear, they can fight to the level of their opponent.

I don't hate Kovalev. I just noticed that he's getting sloppy.

You can't get sloppy like this and beat a guy like Bieterbiev or Stevenson.

I'm not saying Stevenson is great, but the dude is athletic, long, and has one hell of a left hand.

Even that tricky guy that beat Chavez has a GREAT shot at beating Kovalev because remember, that dude loves to switch it up and throw that southpaw left.

He lands that on Kovalev, Kovalev is gonna hit the deck.

Stevenson could KO kovalev because he's a huge puncher, but if fonfara can floor stevenson I'm sure kovalev can KO him. 50/50 fight.
