I don't like Lewis commentating, either. Can't stand Kellerman. Him and Lampley together just such fanboys at times... I just can't take it. They need another guy like Larry Merchant to level the playing field.
No, unless Roy Jones is coming back. Lennox has been okay, and considering they stick him on Boxing After Dark when more casual fans will probably tune in that 'talking to a bunch of casual fans' commentating moniker is probably right for the job Besides, he isn't as bad as George Foreman, cause DAMN he was a low point.
Roy Jones would usually make great predictions, and during action he usually said what fighters were thinking and what they were working on, and sure enough just like that... it would happen.
I think the idea that HBO is going with is to have an actual boxing great on the telecast -one who actually achieved something meaningful. That disqualifies the likes of Mesi. They just want a boxing great around to give some insight. It lends them some credibility to do it that way. The fact is, Lennox does no better or worse than Foreman or Jones did. Those two were an acquired taste, and so is Lewis. He has his own style of guest commentating, which can be decent on some nights. Yet, I still remember how they let him get in that "It is ovvahhhh!" for Maskaev-Rahman II. You gotta admit, that **** there was priceless. :rofl:rofl
Yes please!!!! He is extremely "TERRIBLE" He stutters far to much and makes absolutely no sense at all. :deal
Bullcrap You can understand every word Lennox says Jones is incoherant when you can understand him you find he's talking about himself not the fight Lennox stays get rid of egotistical Max Kellerman
I think Roy was one of the best ive seen.... period. Roy, Jim, Larry, Manny Stew.... would be a good, good team.
