I just read in the new Ring mag that came to my house today that

Are those freakin idiots out of the minds, thinking thats not a good fight or one that boxing fans wanna see? And when Hopkins & GBP didn't show Tomasz the $$$, he turned to his last option...Golota.

I just can't believe that neither of those major cable channels wanted to make this fight happen.

    :-(

None of the major Tv networks in the states have showed vested interest in CW division, especially HBO. And it's the reason your seeing fighters contemplating or moving up in weight.

Adamek-Cunningham I was one of the best fights of the year. I've watched it three or four times. Just a shame.

HBO seems to be struglling and have made many bad decisions and showed many cards that were sub-par. Perhaps that has caused limited cash-flow or maybe this is just a continuation of bad judgement. They seem to be high on GBP and especially latino fighters and since neither Adamek nor Cunningham is latino... well..

Showtime on the other hand is agressively pursuing high quality fights and have done extraordinarily well this year.. they made the biggest ever tournament in boxing with the Super Six and they signed the best MMA fighter in history in Fedor Emilianenko. If I had to choose I would pick Showtime over HBO in a heartbeat. Only thing is that now they have the content but they now need to make the production as high quality.

One of the best fights i'd ever seen was Adamek vs Paul Briggs I and II --

Any fight with Adamek (except Chad Dawson fight) has been action packed ... this guy is worth it. I would rather watch Adamek v Cunningham, than Adamek v Hopkins

Surprises me that Showtime wasn't interested... they must be butting up on budget problems because this is the type of fight they're usually all over. HBO passing doesn't surprise me one bit, as neither is a GBP fighter...

HBO can't find the time for a Vlad/Chambers fight either.

    I believe it.

Cunningham is one of the most boring fighters out there. Sorry, but its the truth. The guy could sell out more tickets in Poland than in the United States, thats for damn sure. Why should Americans look up to a guy like Cunningham when they got guys like Chambers, Mayweather, Pavlik, Hopkins, etc.... Who are all successful American fighters who are also in much more popular divisions. What hardcore American boxing fan cares much about Crusierweight? Not much. Why do you think Adamek wants to move up to HW or fight Hopkins? Hes not doing that for shits n giggles....

Hes sick and tired of getting the **** stick from all the wars he's been in.

Americans don't wanna watch a guy who just got beat and almost knocked out by a tough European guy like Adamek...lol **** that...

Steve didn't make that fight exciting, Adamek did.Only reason Cunningham was successful vs. Diablo the second fight is because he was better prepared with his hugs (kinda like what Tua vs. Ruiz II would look like) and was more effective with his punches. Than after he didn't wanna give him a rematch. Kinda **** is that.

Now that Steve is working with Naz, you know he probably learned a few more tricks, probably even more than what he did in the Wlodarczyk rematch.

Steve likes to grab and hold when he struggles even semi bad(see Wlodarczyk I fight) and just try to jab and hug his way to victory.

Adamek even watched the Wlodarczyk fights and said "He ain't going to clinch me like that" Wlodarczyk aint that good enough fighter to have kept Steve off him, Adamek was thats why he knocked him down 3 times and troubled him several times.

Wlodarczyk was even a bit les effective with Steves new plan and improved style. Basically what im trying to say, is that its possible as HBO thinks the rematch would suck just like the Wlodarczyk II fight, boring. (the Wlodarczyk I fight was pretty exciting.)

Steve wouldn't bring Adamek nor HBO/SHOWTIME any good amount of money anyways.

Kinda shocks me about Tarver - Dawson II tho.

Its at the very least a BAD headliner. The first one was a hell of a fight.

Why the hell does CW get no love from anyone? They are still fast, in shape and they can punch.

But the rematch itself is attractive, no? Besides, put BJ Flores (US/Latino interest, well spoken) on the undercard and create the interest for a follow-up fight. It could be done. It's not rocket science, bud.

Sinking this fight is a missed opportunity. They should stage the damn thing in Poland and show it on ESPN.
