******ed...but at least it'll get picked up by versus and I won't have to find some shitty pirated stream to watch it live.

I agree with HBO and Showtime, this isn't a marquee fight, very few except the hardcore fans know either of them and casual fans do not care about the CW division to necessitate HBO or Showtime paying them the money they deserve.

ESPN might be a better option for this fight. That being said, I hope Adamek doesn't use this as an excuse as to why they should duck Cunningham.

Hell, HBO should just put it as an undercard fight for the Cotto-Pacquiao fight. That fight will gain a lot of interest and tons of buzz leading up to the main event, but none of the smart suits will do that.

Like, I said put the fight on CBS, ABC, NBC, ESPN whatever.

    well said.

showtime, who by just the fight, no fighter contracts, should snap Adamek-Cunningham 2 up.

    great idea with flores.

personally i could see ShoBox try to build Flores and Adamek getting back on ShoBox, as was the case with the Banks fight.

i reckon if adamek beats golota in poland, the cunningham rmeatch could happen in poland

sick that a fighter like adamek, proves himself in america, then can't get any fights. and has to go back to poland for a money fight.

How can he fight Cunningham with no TV money?

Versus won't have their rematch as they only have Contender fighters.

Havn't ESPN given GBP a contract?

HBO and Showtime - no takers. Even though Showtime's whole motto is to show the hardcore fights.

The first fight was an epic 12 rounds so there should be reward for the rematch.

My take - Adamek smashes up Golota, creates a market for fights in Poland, Cunningham comes to Poland.

Why is anyone surprised by this?

The money is being sucked out of boxing and a lot of matches are falling through because the fighters are expecting a certain payday that they're just not going to get anymore.

There has been exactly one major boxing PPV this year: Pacman v Hatton. That's it. UFC now carries the ppv model forward. Most of the big fights this year have been on subscriber or basic cable. Good for us fans, not so good for fight purses.

HBO only offered 2 mil total for Pavlik v Sturm, so that fight got nixed. That would have been unheard of a few years ago - HBO offering up peanuts to a genuinely fan friendly champion who can draw sizeable crowds trying to put together a unification match. But the boxers have to realise that the big money just isn't around anymore except for a special few like Pacman and Mayweather.

The promoters probably wanted HBO and Showtime to pony up millions for Adamek v Cunningham II. But it's just not going to happen. We're getting garbage like Green v Oganov instead, because it probably will cost Showtime a pitiance to put that card together.

something is very wrong when they televise Vernon Forrest-Mora, Dawson-Tarver, Lacy-Taylor, Berto-Urango, Arreola-McCline, but ignore a fight of the year type war as the Adamek-Cunningham rematch.

Adamek is a bigger live gate draw than Mayweather, Taylor, Marquez, Dawson, and many other top p4pers. HBO and showtime don't seem to realize or respect how large and loyal the Adamek fanbase is. And the fact that Adamek has a style and mentality that always guarantees exciting fights.

shame on hbo and showtime for ignoring one of the most thrilling talents in all of boxing.

As far as the above fights, I'm guessing that a number of those guys like Forrest, Dawson, Taylor and Berto are signed with HBO and guaranteed a certain number of televised fights before their contract expires.

Look at Taylor after the Lacy fight. Even though he won, HBO didn't pick up the option for his title fight with Froch. Most likely his contract with the network was up and they decided he wasn't worth the money.

I'm guessing HBO will try to drop Dawson as soon as his contract is up. Chad couldn't draw flies to one of his fights. Athough it's hard to say. They put up 2.5 mil for his Tarver II, which was a fight absolutely no one wanted to see. So maybe the head of HBO boxing has an irrational man crush on Dawson.

Adamek does bring in a big crowd, but you gotta remember that the promoter/manger/fighter usually get the lion's share of the gate. If Adamek's team is going to sell this fight to a network, they're just going to have to take a smaller piece of a smaller pie to make it happen.

I agree, I'ld rather watch some 110 LB GBP fighters run laps.

take you over dramatics some where else. The HBO and Showtime now that they can't give Cunningham - Adamek 2 the money it deserves, so they are simply no trying to televise it, that is better than cutting both fighters short, money-wise, in my opinion.

As for you GBP statement, that is a different issue.

It all comes down to money. Right now Golota-Adamek is what's going to make the bucks, and not just in Poland.

Yeah Adamek should fight on a non televised card that no one gets to see just so that the most deserving fighter in the world gets a rematch(one BTW who bitches out of giving anyone else a rematch).:thumbsup

one thing you have to remember is that most fans aren't hardcore fans and they simply watch the bigger fights...

With that said both adamek and cunningham are not very well known in the usa!!!
