HBO are just taking everthing Top Rank and Bob Arum is making.

Top Rank cards are always borring and sh1t.

HBO still is no. 1 when it comes to money and budget.

But HBO arent doing anything really.

They kicked GBP of their network. That move has hamstrung them. They can still make good fights. However, they're going to struggle for the time being to make big events. They have a lot of fights on the schedule from now till the end of November. We'll see how it turns out.

HBO's budget for this year is 35 million Showtime's is 28 million, plus they cut out MMA, though it's unsure if that money went to something else or to boxing.

But think about this, in 1999-2000 HBO's budget was 100 million!!!

Sure but GBP is not the only promoters in the sport. Neither is TR. They should make maore fight with Goosen, DiBella or GaryShaw.

Daaaaam. FOr real? But they also had major Heavyweight fights on back then. Holyfield vs. Lewis I & II, Lewis vs. Botha, Lewis vs. Tua.

But 35 is not that much. Thought it was bigger.

Yeah man, it's insane. If you google it you'll see, not sure I can quote the source, but they are quotes from people at HBO/Showtime.

No no I believe what you are saying.

Insane how much HBO have been degrading Boxing then. 100 $ million to 35$.

It is about 3x times less in less than 15 years.

It will work itself out eventually. But HBO is ignorant as hell. They pissed that Floyd left. Is it that hard to out-bid Showtime?

Mauro Ranallo is so NOT made for boxing. Cant believe that Showtime hired him as a boxing commentator.

Gus Johnson was so much better

I think FLoyd wanted out himself.
He wants to be with a postive team. Not a team that questions or critises his opponents or wins.

Jim Grey never asks the same questions that Larry Merchant did.

FLoyd is a sensible guy. Very. Remeber the Post press conference against Baldomir

For sure. He was great also. THey should put Barry Tompkins and Steve Farhood on instead of Al Bernstein.
