was taunted during the HBO pay-per-view telecast of the Pacquiao-Margarito superfight in Dallas.

During the post-fight wrap up, on-air conversation between Jim Lampley and Max Kellerman, a very interesting exchange took place between the two HBO announcers…

Lampley stated,”So years from now we’ll say we know Mayweather was a genius. He waited for Pacquiao to fight five bigger guys. He watched him fight a guy who is seventeen pounds larger.
Maybe he’ll take the fight (with Pacquiao) next week?” Read more

He wouldn't be doing anything different than Pac did with all of those he beat to cement his so called legacy. Meaning beating old, washed up, past prime fighters. Who has pac beat that was a prime, game fighter in the last 2 years?

It does seem as though Mayweather is trying to time this fight. After watching him destroy Cotto, he threw the drug-testing obstacle in the way. After watching him look even more comfortable at 147 against Clottey, he claimed no negotiations took place. And now, after seeing him demolish a man who he stayed away from 2 years ago, one can only wonder what the next excuse will be.

If Mayweather really is waiting for Pacquiao to slow down, then I guess us fight-fans should prepare ourselves for a 3rd failed attempt to make the fight happen. Because Pacquiao on Saturday night, showed us again why he's such a threat to Mayweather and his spotless record.

Both guys are at the best they're ever going to be. It must be made now.

Actually the Pac that fought last weekend looked to have slipped already.

I like the outcome of the fight but I did not like what I saw in Pacquiao. He sort of gassed out in there and he was badly hurt by a body shot.

I think Floyd might have seen something he's been waiting for in that fight.

Yeah, he's waiting for Pac to fight 5 big men before fighting him. That's absolute timing. As the HBO commentator, he'll fight him next week.

I guess this is worst than beating up leftovers of that same guy that you are supposedly trying to fight. Lampley keeps a dick in his mouth.

I think both have seen their best days, but still close to the top of their game. Pac can't keep having these physically tough fights forever. I think May's legs have gone a bit. Both are just slightly past their peaks. The fight should have been made after the Mayweather-JMM fight.

Aggressive fighters who take punishment don't age as well as defensive "cuties". The scales tilt more towards mayweather with each fight pac takes.
