I think you need to blame the WBC (Gomez) and the WBO (Thompson) not HBO or the Klitschkos for those fights. They are mandatories. Klitschko must fight and HBO has contracts with them so they have to show them

If I haven't heard of Tony Thompson boxing isn't for me? Yeah, because Tony the tiger Thompson set the world on fire with classics fights year in and year out, right? Seriously, what exactly were these Thompson classics I'm so ignorant for having never seen? Break out the list man.

Tony had only 1 decision loss on his record early in his career. He beat Dominic Guinn, Vaughn Bean, Yanqui Diaz, Timur Ibragimov & he KO'd Luan Krasniqi. He was also never KO'd until he fought Klitschko. He was a mandatory defense as well.

No. I never responded because I didn't know first that the thread had been bumped, and second that it had been bumped with such foolishness. Ruskull told me that "if I'd never heard of Tony Thompson, maybe boxing isn't for me." Which, frankly, is dumb as ****. Notice how I asked for the classic, must-see Thompson fights, and he just listed random wins and statistics?? "Only one loss in his career!!!" He's debating like a woman here.

I don't follow boxing to read statistics on the computer, I follow boxing to actually watch and witness great fights and great fighters. If I said I wasn't familiar with a guy who has put on memorable performances and had great fights, THEN come at me with a dumb comment like that. But not for a guy who's had a few TV appearances here and there and was never in a fight people talked about the next day.

I'm not saying Thompson didn't beat a few guys to win a sanctioning bodies #1 contender status, I'm saying HBO gets inconsistent with what they deem "worthy" of airing on their network, unless it's one of their chosen ones. They won't accept Froch as a worthy opponent for Taylor, but Wlad's fighting Tony the Tiger!!!!!! We gotta' air THAT!!!

Well, from what I've seen Vitali vs Gomez is a pretty good fight, talent on both sides of the ring, although Vitali should be too much for Gomez.

I definetely wanna watch this fight, should be more competitive than Vitali vs Peter.
