Showtime guys aren't quite as obnoxious as the HBO crew. I always liked Al Bernstein and Paulie M. occasionally gives some good insights that even people who have been around boxing for a long time may not have thought. HBO guys, one seems like he's determined to maximize his investment in a thesaurus and another one seems like he's always trying to insert his own personal greatness in half his comments. Larry Merchant is missed. Kellerman seems to have matured quite a bit over the years. He doesn't let personal preference creep into his commentary like he did several years ago, he's actually the best of the commentary crew. I hate Howard Cossell to this day for his commentary of the Holmes-Cobb fight. Petulant Cossell went rogue and intentionally sabotaged the fight thus necessitating the need for more than one talking head, sort of a fail safe so one guy can't ruin the entire fight.
Bernstein and Malignaggi are good. I don't like Farhood and I really don't like that Mauriello guy (not sure what his name is exactly, but the awkward MMA guy).
HBO for me although I hate Lampley. I hate the way he repeats the same phrases every fight. "They're trading shotsssssssssss". Ward and RJJ are good calm commentators too in the same breadth Manny Stewart was. Paulie is decent on Showtime but you gotta think that this guy is talking through his ass most of the time. Agree with Bernstein being a WWE commentator, lmao.
