ARghhh what is wrong with these counterprogramming assholes?! There's a whole month between September 15th and October 13th with nothinh on their schedules! We could watch all 6 of these cards, but these pricks are only allowing us to watch 3!
Fights i will try the most to see Live: De Leon vs Gonzales Alvarado vs Rios Chavez vs Martinez Mares vs Moreno Matthysee vs Olusegun Ward-Dawson Soto Karass vs Maidana The rest will have to wait.
September 8 - HBO September 15- HBO October 13- HBO But what a great schedule that is on both networks. Here's hoping theres no injuries or other issues that could jeopardize any of these cards.
Chavez fight has sold over 14,000 seats so far and the GBP card has sold only 3,000.This is a statement whose fight card is better in the PAYING fans eyes. GBP will be giving away freebees like hot cakes.
HBO has better cards on all 3 of those dates. The Sept 8th card is no-contest but the other two are failry even but HBO gets the edge. While HBO has the better cards you can make a good case for giving Showtime the overall edge. First, Showtime will put 2-3 decent to good fights on their Showtime Extreme channel before the main card starts so you get a lot more fights with Showtime. Second, HBO's card on the 15th is ppv while all of Showtime's are on regular Showtime. HBO has the better cards and bigger fights-Ward-Dawson and Martinez-Chavez are big time main events but Showtime is cheaper and gives you more fights. Great month of fights from both networks.
HBO clean sweep 3 - 0 Although i will say that the one for the purists is Mares Moreno , thats if Moreno can stay elusive against Mares , but i think Donaire Nishioka is actually a very exciting fight , supported well by Brandon Rios vs Mike Alvarado , what a great fight that is
Isn't there someone else fighting on Canelo's card too? I remember they stacked it pretty good since they want to steal Top Rank's viewers. But anyway I got HBO on all of those fights, on Sep 15th I'm gonna have a weird setup though, watching the PPV on TV, and then streaming the Canelo fight on the computer lol.
I'm going to watch them all. One great thing about living on the West Coast is that the live cards start at 6. I wish the promoters would work together. By staggering these dates, they could each have a couple of exclusive dates and the fans would get to see all the fights.
Thank God for DVR!!!:happy I'm gonna catch them all...I'll probably watch HBO on the 8th and record Showtime....The same on the 15th. On the 13th...I'll watch the Showtime fight live and record the HBO fight to watch later.
