Why? 1) Shane has poor following 2) Shane is old 3) Cotto is undefeated and Shane is not 4) There is more money to be made if they fought Both fighters fail to impress me yesterday. Yes Shane is old but he was getting outbox by Cotto on more than one occasion, if it wasn't from his physical gifts, he would be in deep trouble. Cotto still showed that he gets hurt, and now stamina issues. What's up with him running the last four rounds and still won by UD. I expect a draw, or a shane victory. Simply HBO does not care to see Shane vs Floyd. They screwed him. They both landed the same amount of punches while Mosely landed more power shots. Since when does Jabs worth more than power shots? Shane also threw 100 more... sounds like a bunch of crap to me. Floyd will beat them both. Neither fighter showed that they could adjust effeciently.
Floyd beats Cotto, I agree with this. I still think Shane takes him, but it would be very hard at this point of his career. Floyd-Cotto is a perfect match for HBO. Cotto draws, and Floyd doesn't. So that will be taken care of. Fight in NYC to maximize Cotto's fanbase and get a big gate. I could see Floyd signing for this fight. He does not think much of Cotto, which is why he predicted a Mosley KO. It's somewhat risky for PBF, but not nearly as risky as a fight against Williams or Margo. I think PBF beats Hatton, chooses to fight Cotto, and defeats Cotto. Then he likely retires rather than fight Williams or Margo.
