    Article by Tom Hauser

There are rumours that HBO took away November dates from bob arum to force him to schedule PAc for Oscar's last bout in december. Arum has been complaining about the "most privileged" treatment HBO gives to GBP while he is being outmanuevered for HBO dates. take for example the successive turn-downs HBO made on Arums offers for Pavlik. HBO demanded they wouldn't buy any pavlik fight if it does not involved Paul Williams. they were saying this knowing that Williams has already turned down the offer and that Williams is already contratually obligated to fight winky for december or january. It only made sense knowing all along HBO was keeping Pavlik for GBP's Hopkins and immediately set a date when GBP made the offer.

Now, back to pac. after beating david diaz, Arum's first plans included a bout with valero or Sotto in the US for a PPV in november 8 and offered it to HBO. all was confirmed by Arum who has made talks with direct TV and In Demand to avoid TV competition. Instead Arum got news from HBO that they are putting in Jones-calzaghe on november 8 and the only schedule they could offer for PAc was November 15. Arum wouldn't take this because this coincides with a UFC PPV event. Arum thinks HBO is trying to manuever him into something until talks about DLH-Pac surfaced and some HBO guys rumuored to be making offers to Pac to fight DLH behind Arum's back.

With all this, even if a lot of boxing people who think the fight is preposterous if it happens, for the powers behind the scenes, the money involved makes it preposterous if it does not happen.

    mark December 6 for PAC-DLH.

If this is true, shame on HBO. I'd so much rather see Paq against Nate Campbell. Oscar's career is already over. His priority now is not getting hurt. If he had any balls he'd fight Margarito, hell even Cintron or Judah.
But no, he wants to fight a guy who is barely a lightweight.
It won't be a good fight. I am often dismayed and confused over the fact that all these bull**** matches are being made featuring washed up name fighters . It would be poetic justice if Paq gave Oscar a beating. But then the Golden Bore would probably start beating the drums for another farewell fight against another undersized patsy.
