HBO wants Pavlik vs Hopkins Oh NO!!!!

Do you really think ko-ing Rubio/Duddy/Mora will put any pressure on Sports Network ? , they'll be wrote of as nowbody's who were no threat to Pavlik and that Pavlik should take a real test before he gets in the ring with Calzaghe . Now I'm not saying that's right I'm just saying I think that's the way things would go .

If Pavlik were to ko Hopkins then there would be far too much pressure on Sports Network to make the fight , so they'd have to make it or Joe retires........

and I think Calzaghe would rather beat Jones and fight Pavlik then just beat Jones and retire .

I personally don't like this match up for Hopkins. Pavlik's workrate and power will keep him in a shell. Sure he will get in his counter shots and the lead right hand as Pavlik is stationary but he only fights in spurts. While Calzaghe has superior talent over Pavlik, Pavlik does have power. And power and hand speed is what kept Hopkins in a shell against Taylor. But in this case, it's power and workrate.

Yeah, i know Hopkins is about as ring savvy as it gets and he will have his moments against the one dimensional Pavlik but i see him getting outworked, especially if father time further erodes his skills and stamina.

 

Hopkins loses to another white boy. This time by KO. Likely to be brutal. Hopkins has no stamina late any more. If he fades like he did against Calzaghe and starts acting like a ***** again, Pavlik will drop the hammer on him. No way lazy low activity Hopkins can keep up with Pavliks pace.

Hops has already said he won't fight anyone under 35, and even then only if they throw punches like a woman and have feather-fists instead of bombs .. Pavlik doesn't meet his criteria

 

No freakin' way is this fight going to happen. If it gets made I will talk as much trash about Pavlik as I did about Joe. Stupid fight.

 

B-Hop is so hard to hit flush, that it wouldn't be a knockout. i'd be interested to see how Pavlik responds to the headbutts, low blows, and all around seasoned veteran fighting style of X. If Bernard gets in Kelly's head, he will win. it's probably a 50-50 fight. intriguing indeed. :smoke

Just think that feather fisted guys like Winky and Calzaghe put Hopkins on his bicycle. And that's only because Hopkins takes pride in not getting hit, especially flush. Imagine what Pavlik's relentless workrate along with his power would do? I know, i know, Hopkins will get in his shots with counters and leads against Pavlik. And he might even land the more telling blows. But will it be enough to win 7 or more rounds? I don't think so. I know Hopkins isn't KOing Pavlik. No way. I mean Taylor hit Pavlik with 6 or so flush shots and he still got up and had his legs under him in 30 seconds. Even if Hopkins were to daze Pavlik, do you honestly think he can finish him? Maybe. But there's a side of me that saids that Hopkins won't risk expending his energy unless if he knows Pavlik is seriously hurt.

Hopkins is the ultimate game manager. Everything is calculated. I think he will make it competitive enough where he can ***** about the decision after the fight but i think it will be a clear UD for Pavlik.

Pavlik by KO late rounds. As much as I am a fan of B-Hop, he wouldnt be able to win against Kelly at this point. Kelly would just walk him down and tire his ass out. Plus, Kelly punches like a badass. You all saw the Lockett fight.

i would hate this fight as much as everyone else other then one reason, if hopkins did fight pavlik, and make him look bad just like he did to joe calzaghe, then pavlik fans could not say oh joe struggled against a 43 year old hopkins
