I am American and you must be blind. Calzaghe won 9 out of 12 rounds and basically made Hopkins quit in the 10th.

I want Pavlik to put a serious beating on Hopkins and shut him up forever. Hopkins does not belong in the same league as the great middles like Monzon, Greb, and Robinson.

 

Someone just proved that they started watching Hopkins fight MAAAAYBE around the time of Eastman or Taylor.

Hate to break it to you bro...but Hopkins was the epitome of an exciting fighter for the majority of his career...only slowing down and reinventing himself as age permitted.

Go do some research on his career next time before spouting off nonsense like that. Ya dont get the nickname "The Executioner" by winning boring decisions your whole career.

(BTW, Hopkins is a NIGHTMARE for the way Kelly fights...this is a fight that NOONE in Pavlik's camp wants to happen...if it does, Hopkins wins by a comfortable UD!)

That and go watch his fights with Echols....fantastic (and DIRTY AS HELL) fights!!! Or his DESTRUCTION of Glen Johnson....a man who has never, EVER been beaten THAT bad before or since (a fighter who also said that Hopkins was "hands down" the best fighter he has ever faced...and also credited Bernard with telling him how to beat Jones...).

Seriously, I hate when I see people who obviously had never seen him fight prior to a few years ago pretend like they knew what a PRIME BERNARD HOPKINS fought like. Its ridiculous.

 

The Bhop that fought Tito would kill Pavlik (whom I like, as he has a lifetime pass with me for KTFO JT ).


And that wasn't even his prime.....

 

Hop has never been dominated, just do not see it happening with Pavlik.. The Calz fight was real damn close. Thought Hop definitely landed cleaner more effective punches, and Joe got it on work rate.. Im a big Pavlik fan by the way, just think Hop gives anybody trouble... He was dominant in his prime. I think he is under rated on here because the youngins never saw his prime.

 

I think B-Hop will crack Pavliks questionable chin.
Hopkins is sneaky with thight defense, and Pavlik is predictable with not that great of defense.

Pavlik can win this if he lasts to the end and get a a decision based on throwing more punches. but it will probably be like the Calazage fight, where a lot of people will feel that Hopkins can get the decision basd on more effective punches.

 

A bit better than Calzaghe/Jones IMO and a dominating performance could put added pressure on Joe but Pavlik against the winner of AA/Miranda or Kessler would definately be more entertaining.

 

This would be a stupid fight for Pavlik to take. He would have everything to lose and nothing to gain.

 

If I get to see Hopkins getting KTFO, then deal!
