Fight wasn't close. The final scores were laughable. Matthysse also should have stopped Provodnikov. The man's eye was butchered early on, and Matthysse should have been gluing right hands to it all night. For whatever reason he didn't. Had he swollen that eye shut, the ref would have been forced to stop it. Matthysse doesn't seem to have very high ring IQ.
He did seem a bit bitter Matthysse won. The way he delivered his questions post fight came with a bit of a smug attitude. It's no question if you watch his show how he feels about showtime. When mayweather and GB fought only on showtime he wasn't shy about saying how showtime won't let him show footage of fights. He wasn't shy about bashing mayweather every chance he got. The guy is pro hbo and I get that, but his fanboyism is clear and his bias bleeds through. He's so passionate about what he does it's hard for him to call fights without his bias showing up one way or another.
Lampley has ruined some fights I think this was more of the case that Ruslan did land some bombs that from ringside must have been even more dramatic than on tv He never implied Ruslan won or was winning and prior to Provodnikov having success in round 8 he'd been saying Lucas hits harder and that it could be stopped
The fight was not close at all. Matthysse got hit with a very hard punch in round 11, but he took the punch well and continued to fight, that punch would have knocked Garcia out cold...................
Bump for Wladimir/Jennings. HBO team wasn't quite as bad as Lederman. I guess I'm bumping it for Lederman. That guy needs to go. Had Wladimir by 116-113. Scored the first round even + point deduction.
I didnt watch it on HBO but Lampley for sure is becoming big joke...he calls landed shot only by fighters he hypes!
