right before he fought Stevenson. HBO pointed out that Dawson has changed trainers 10 times in his career. And you know Dawson was bullsh**ting when he said Eddie Muhammad was the best trainer for him, out of all the trainers he had.

Right after that Jim Lampley said, "you catch the drift he's a guy who changes his mind from to time."

I think Shaw is tired of Dawson too after all the years in investing in him, and believing in him. I don't know what Dawson was thinking completely overlooking Stevenson, especially after losing badly against Ward. I think everyone knew about Stevenson's power except Dawson.

I don't think he overlooked Stevenson. He just got nailed. Dawson always seemed a guy who couldn't keep his focus for a full fight. There were always spells where it seemed he was in cruise control. Unfortunately for him, Stevenson managed to capitalize and put his lights out.

I thought Pascal nailed it in his interview on the scene. Dawson is skilled, but he's an idiot

He thought of Stevenson as nothing more than a tune up. Almost all boxing insiders knew about Stevenson's power, but Dawson dismissed it.

Dawson fought terrible; he was squaring up while throwing punches while leaving his chin up in the air, that's not how you fight against a puncher, especially considering that Dawson had a significant height and reach advantage. If Dawson was aware of Stevenson's power he would have fought better defensively.

Do you know he viewed him as a tune up for a fact? If not I prefer to give Stevenson the credit.

There is a clip of Chad saying that Stevenson is just a tune up and he said that Adonis will look like a small fry compared to him, I'll have to find the clip.

During the press conference, Chad said that he never heard of Adonis and had to google his name and Adonis is just a stepping stone dismissing him as a threat.

I'll take your word for it. It's very possible. Dawson isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

Dawson was pretty aggressive in his trash talking which was unusual for him. He said stuff that would make Stevenson's blood boil, which was dumb. That's why I think Dawson overlooked him.

All boxing insiders where more knowledgebale in hindsight then the fighter that lost? Where have I heard that before haha?

It was the first round and he got caught simple as that.

i think it's ridiculous to put your fighter in with a big puncher like stevenson after he's been stopped for the first time in his career. there are a lot of ppl to blame for that loss.

    1. shaw
    2. chad's manager
    3. eddie mustafa
    4. chad himself

Dawson checked out mentally(completely) after the Ward loss(or during it).

And his chin was never elite.

This was terrible matchmaking but him not being able to sell tickets puts him in these type positions.

The way he fought was so stupid. How are you going to follow a puncher around the ring? Seriously man.
