Calzaghe vs Kessler isn't happening so what's up with that?
    Abraham-Miranda 2 was at a 166 catchweight
Bute vs Zuniga was a one sided blasting.

If you're going to list Zuniga vs Bute then I guess you can list Torres-Holt II as a good fight specifically one packed with drama. Urango vs Herman Ndojou was a great fight.

The Bradley-Holt fight was as bland as Tarver-Dawson 1 and 2. Can't bash one and promote the other.

Roach has already said that Pac will stay around 140. JMM will reside at 140 for as long as he competes. Hatton is still there. Timothy Bradley is there. Victor Ortiz is there. Nate Campbell is there. Andreas Kotelnik is there. Mighty Mike Alvarado is there. Peterson is there. That's not counting Zab, Bailey and the other B- fighters in that range.

It's a good division which you completely slanted.

Max Kellerman is the worst commentator HBO has ever had, and he drags the other decent commentator's to his level with his bull****.

very true...a win is a win...if you keep winning you get big fights...tarver fought decent and chad beat him easy...why would ANYONE think it would be any different than the first one???

Emmanuel Steward wanted no parts of bashing Dawson - he kept finding good **** he was doing and pointing it out.

The point is that HBO was kind of strong armed into this fight.

Essentially they paid a lot of money to get Chad Dawson in their ranks and their showcase fight turned out to be him vs a guy he handled easily already.

It would be like HBO putting tons of money into David Haye and the 1st fight they get to show is a rematch of him vs Jean Marc Mormeck.

Okay they weren't strong armed into the fight because when it came down to it they already knew who Dawson was fighting and they had the option to pick it up or wait till Dawson was completely free of Tarver ...

Its crazy because Tarver is a well known fighter and he has put together some good fights on HBO and it shouldn't have been about the fight - it shouldve been an emphasis on Chad Dawson and having us get to know more about him.

Its funny how they expect something other than what it was ... a good quality win over a well named - accomplishe opponent.

Its very hard to critiqe a boxer ... who's just going to box ... he showed some good promise and he's poved that he's world class.

I just think they shouldve touched more on what Chad Dawson was about than about the fight ... the whole purpose for signing him was because he was undefeated and accomplished some things and is still relatively young.

They can do all the match making and everything once the public has gotten to know who he is.

It has nothing to do with the division because nothing has change with the division since Jones, Tarver, Hopkins, Johnson, and Calzaghe reigned.

I think Tarver just made him look unimpressive. Dawson is a very talented fighter and I felt that Kellerman was hating big time. I'm glad I aint the only person who saw that ****. Tarver beat Roy Jone Jr. "3" times for Godsakes.

Is the end of the fight interviews on YouTube? I didn't notice as much some of the stuff you guys are saying, but I did notice in Lampley's closing statements he said something that started with: "The reason we showed him to you tonight...." but I don't remember the exact words to the end of that sentence. I think it was something like "he's the future of the LHW division, etc, etc..". But that part caught my attention bigtime, as if Lampley felt compelled to explain why they had just shown us that fight. lol.

Steward said it best when they tried to downgrade him a bit, he just said that Tarver came 100% this time and wanted to give it all he had, which is the truth. That's the reason why Dawson didn't look as good as he did in the first fight, it was Tarver just giving him everything he has to offer and still Dawson beats him.

They probably expected a blowout or an early KO, can't really blame them as they just recently ran into Pac/Hatton so expectations being too high is only normal.

He most of always does that.
He also said Tarver fought a good fight, which to a degree is true.

HBO tends to jump bandwagons from time to time. Remember after the first Brewster fight they basically abandoned Wlad Klitschko and even brought him in as an opponent for Sam Peter (their newly hyped fighter at the time) to KO. Wlad won and they have been back on the bandwagon ever since.

After Glass Jaw Roy Jones got brutally KOed two fights in a row HBO basically left Roy for dead after hyping him for years as the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I like Dawson think is has great talent he just fights in a **** Division right now with no known good opposistion. In my opinion HBO wasted 3.5 mil or so on buying the rematch it was a fight that the Boxing public really did not need to see again.

He won 'CW champion' while Adamek was LHW, he did it before Adamek had been lighter. Not a big diff, but when I'm reading that it looks a bit strange. Sorry dude :)

To the topic ... It's not a secret that HBO cooperates with GBP, another clear stuff is that Dawson wants Hopkins, but Hopkins doesn't want Dawson. Maybe this way HBO/GBP, by telling such a crap, want to show that BadChad is not a fighter who's worth Hopkins' punches and they try to run away from this whole Dawson-Hopkins case and convience viewers, that this fight wouldn't be interesting. Honestly, I haven't watched it in HBO, so if it's true what the thread starter said, it may be this way how I'm writing.

They kept talking about Dawson fading yet all of his victories has been either stoppage or UD.

I don't get it ... and he's fighting quality fighters ... guys veterans like Tarver, Johnson, and Adamek who have put together nice resumes for themselves and know how to wear fighters down ... the good thing about is that he didn't fall victim to circumstance and prevailed.
