That's what I thought, from now on boxers should just stand in the opposite corners and shadow box.

What emotion? I like Williams (and picked him to win) and don't really give a flying **** about Lara. I always got the feeling Erislandy was one of these pampered Cuban amateurs who got lazy as pros and phoned in their efforts at times. He really elevated my opinion of him with this performance, even though I was both rooting against him and expecting him to get out hustled and out classed.

Williams didn't win more than a couple of rounds. His usual work rate was just a smokescreen. It doesn't automatically bank him rounds, when he's getting popped in the face and not landing at a very high rate himself (and not sitting down on any of his 100 slaps a round).

Again, I like PTP and was looking for him to bounce back with a win here. Just not like this. He lost that fight.

I agree he lost but as I've said I had it closer than some have acted. I agree that when looking at it as a whole...Lara won, round by round it was alot closer than 10-2

 Funny enough, I actually did give Paul the 10th round as well. As I recall it was a pretty close round and I felt bad about him getting his ass kicked so badly that I gave him that round....and I think it was a pretty close round. So, that was 1 of 2 rounds he won on my scorecard. Either way, Williams clearly lost he got his ass kicked throughout the fight.

 Who gives a f*ck what HBO thinks. I had the fight 9-2-1, 118-111 for Lara. He won CLEARLY!!!!!! HBO is right! You act like the whole world is controlled by HBO. Everyone in the arena was booing because HBO convinced them that they were seeing something that they didn't??? :huh
Don't post anymore, you are only making yourself look STUPID!!!

And I thought 10 was close, but I had it for Lara. No biased "HBO" opinion here. I have been a fan of Williams for a long time and expected him to win last night.

    Lara won the fight. Period.

However, I did think the HBO commentary was a bit outrageous at times. I don't think he was in danger of being stopped. They made it sound like a career ending beating.

The point they were making was not that he was in danger of getting knocked out cold, but that he was taking too many clean head shots and that perhaps his corner ought to stop it. They were right about that.

The official victory came at a pretty steep price for PW. His brain took major abuse.

Just watched the fight about an hour ago. I only gave Paul 4 rounds (3, 4, 5, 8) and even that might be overly generous

When "workrate", ie throwing dozens of deflected punches, is your best counter to the other guy consitently bombing your head with an overhand left in every round, you lose. Williams got a gift decision and had he been fighting someone less feather fisted, he'd have been left with another shattered glass jaw within five rounds.

Actually Lara is not that feather fisted, he hurt PW a few times I think the extra weight that williams carried into the fight is what make him finish the fight, remember that he was a LHW fighting a JMW, he was hurt and the type of damage that causes brain cells to die
