I respect HBO for doing the right thing. There trying to make them fight people that can beat them.. HBO has lost lots of money showing Klitschko's fights. There is no reason for HBO to travel overseas to show a boring fight that only a few nuthuggers are watching. The Klitscho's are barly even know in the united states. Boxing is becoming like soccer here. UFC is where the money is at here so it want be long before HBO starts showing UFC fights. HBO has to look out for there company. They have done lot for the Klitschko's but Wladimir choose to keep fighting tomato cans. Americans like good fights. Not boring jab and grab fighters like wlad.

I don't understand it. HBO was willing to let RJJ fight complete bums on HBO and lets Mayweather Jr. pick and choose he wants to fight, but won't let Wladimir and Vitali fight on their airwaves. Sad.

Unfortunately those brothers are the best of their era. What American heavyweight can beat them right now? I don't see anyone on the horizon. You?

Well, it's not Hbo's fault that they can only make money at HW with fights involving Haye, Klitchkos and Adamek, today.

That doesn't mean that in a few months the scenario could not change with names like Peter, Arreola, Briggs coming back to the spotlight or others like Solis, Cunningham, Dawson, emerging.

that depends on the point of view, they fill out the whole stadiums in europe
and people who buy the tickets pays to watch them so they are maybe
boring only for Americans since they put to sleep all 'best' US contenders.

As someone has already mentioned, hopefully it will encourage promoters to make the big fights we all want to see i.e. Haye vs Klitschko vs Adamek?

Here is the thing, the Klits are great boxers, but boxing is not only a sport for the American audience but entertainmaint. Their style appeals to a Euorpean fan/venue more so than an American audience. Their bouts are not that exciting,(by American standards) in loving the sport many overlook the business aspect of it, but like all things this is a business. The Klits have flourished and are rich beyond any of our wildest imaginations. They don't fight in the states because they fight where the get paid the most. I am sure they could fight here and show their bouts, but why? If the Europeans are willing to pay more, and they are willing to make more.....more power to them and God Bless them.

They make more money fighting in Europe so they fight there, if you have ever have any more questions like this, all you have to do is follow the money, and it will fall in place. :good

Yes in Europe they sell out stadiums here in the states they couldn't sell out the Staples Center for the Arreola beat down.........

They fight where its better for them, money + fans = set precedent.

HBO cards suck anyway. The channel is something like an official Golden Boy Promotion TV broadcaster. They spent all their money on Golden Boy. It is understanble that HBO wants to invest in American fighters but they should say it like it is.

It is a bad business decision, however, because boxing is losing ratings without its best fighters - KlitschKO brothers.
