"I'm very torn, I have to say. I was expecting more from him," Hershman said. "This is one where you listen to the fans. The fans voted by turning off the channel. At the end of the day we're a TV network and we have to please our subscribers. If they're not interested we have to respect that. In the right match maybe there will be another opportunity, but it's not something getting done in the near future. I have tremendous respect for what he does but it's not something our subscribers responded to."

Sucks for Rigo man. He's an amazing talent, but let's be honest here guys. He's not exactly the most exciting fighter to watch and I do see where Hershman is coming from. Damn...

It's unfortunate because he's already in his 30's and now HBO won't be showcasing him to their subscribers anymore. :( sad stuff.

Even with his style, I believe that he could've been an attraction. It's just that he doesn't know a lick of English. It's pretty much many negatives put into one man and the only positive is his godlike performances in the ring.

Rigo has some serious bad luck. The guy is basically #2 in pure boxing skills dept but hardly has a fan base except those of us on boxing forums.

You can fight any style you want and win as many belt as you want but no one will see or care if the network doesn't show it.

He can always fight in undercards. Maybe in the next Pac undercard.

The guy is an amazing talent, but he doesn't take any risks. If he doesn't fight Santa Cruz, he needs to move to 126, so he can get some better matchups. I would love to see him fight a guy like Gradovich.

Fights are about entertainment. I don't blame HBO for pulling him off their airwaves. Maybe he can be put on some PPV undercard, he doesn't belong as a headliner.

Unfortunately most people would rather watch two unskilled bums go at it. :verysad

Did I miss something? Showtime will just pick him up, RIGHT??? That is their business model, picking up HBO cast-offs.

Perhaps they can have him do colour commentary as well. That would be even more frustrating than watching him fight.

Good. Let's see if he keeps his same smug attitude and claim he doesn't care about whether people like him after this.

No, how about two equally skilled fighters going at it? I guess Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns were two unskilled bums when they fought and that was also a snooze fest. Oh wait...
