HBO World Championship Boxing Intro is getting worse and worse after each remake...

These NEW graphics were weak, IMO.

& bringing in that ref to later replace Lederman???

 

I agree.

But HBO commentators do suck. When I think Papa is the best they've got, that's something pretty heavy.

The whole new style reminds me of showtime.
Its nice but the intro is just garbage. It just be filled with epic music, commentary (like the first one) and have the most recognizable faces on it.
People get pumped and go "Oooh ! I´ve seen him"

 

I loved the one from like 03-04ish I thought that one was the best

I didnt like the part in the new one where the ring girl put on lipstick

like you couldnt tell it was a ring girl it flashed by so fast my friends probably thought i was watching some *** **** on MTV

Lampley is getting worse by the year, Might be time to take him out back & put a slug in the back of his head "Merchant style".

Liked the first two, didn't notice the switch. Not feelin it.

 

I liked them all, but the newest one. I still prefer the early 90's one.

 

Sometimes he isn't, but he was on Broner's dick hardcore.

 

I actually like Jones as an announcer, Kellerman too. I'm used to Lampley being there so I've got no issue with him. Showtime isn't bad either. I'm not a big critic but both networks are ok to me.

 

They get progressively worse over time. The electronica went way too far in the new one, and the truck thing is stupid. Do they believe fans associate boxing with trucks??

Simple and non-jarring are the way to go for the music, along with solid editing and clips. The new intro lacks off of these things, like they brought in one of their TV show people to create the intro. Someone obviously doesn't get it.

 

They should have flashing images of famous boxers like the 2009 one you posted hitting mitts, walking into the ring, speed bag but with this song 0:17=0:44
