And despite how great this card was on Showtime tonight it would of probably only gotten 50-100k PPVs on HBO. The card tonight was excellent and pn regular Showtime yet a much lesser card Crawford-Postol was PPV, makes no sense.

    Probably.

On the bright side, the skyrocketing cost of content and a bubble in the TV production market means there's a small, but real, chance HBO puts more $$$ back into the boxing budget. Problem is, we'd need to see an upswing in their ratings to justify it, and they've made some tactical errors- chief among them the shoddy buildup of Kovalev-Ward IMO.

    :deal

HBO is a sinking ship in boxing ever since Mayweather jumped ship to Showtime. They ran off Haymon and tried to brainwash the world to hate him but it seems that he was right all along. PPV is dead and their is no replacement for Mayweather.

They sure would have. Showtime is better suited to deliver the big fights off PPV these days. And working closely with Haymon and PBC, they could possibly run HBO Boxing out of town.

    yupppppppp

and haymon keeps putting on some real good/entertaining cards on cable.....

the old guard is afraid of "change"...most people are....haymon is the present and future.....of course you have a large percentage of ESB's population who are rooting for a hedge fund over haymon and the success of boxing.....which is pathetic
