Ok dont get me wrong I LOVE holyifield like u wouldnt believe. i can watch the 3 bowe matches all day everyday and never get tired but i've noticed everyone is makin a big deal over his win over lou but come on! everyone and there momma knows lou saverese aint ****. he never beat a top 10 guy, and was comin off a huge layoff. if u saw the fight u will see that yes evander won ut if u know anything u will know that as soon as he steps up and fights a upper heavy hes going to lose. he gets beat to the punch too much and any heavy with skillz is going to hurt him. i for one wish he would have just retired after the toney fight
His management team says he's ready for a title shot!....well of course after beating an inactive 40 something Saverse, what more more should a guy do to deserve a title shot? He will continue fighting tomato cans and not risk losing to a ranked fighter before he get's his "undeserved title shot" which I hope he doesn't get unless he beats some one of note.
I want to know if he gets his shot at one of the champions, and loses, if he'll just retire this time around. Hand picking all these mail men and beating them up doesn't make him a contender as far as i'm concerned.
I think it would be scary to see him fight any of the Big 3 title holders. I heard rumors of him fighting Sultan for the WBO, but I'd also heard Holy say he never held that title and didn't want to pursue it.
If he is able to in the future (I'm not a huge fan of the Big O but I consider him to have more then Holy at this point) beat Maskaev, I'll run out and buy Evander Holyfield Career fight set.
Holyfield claimed that his nagging injuries limited his ability to fight properly and his recent demolition of Savarese and Bates looked good so maybe he wasn't kidding. Still, I think he should have to fight a top 10 guy & win impressively before anyone takes his comeback too seriously.
Holyfield would get demolished by any of the current champs. It would not even be close. Remember his non-performance against Donald, who himself just go thumped by a 12 fight novice. Savarese was barely a name ten years ago.
I'm totally on the Holyfield title express now. There is no reason why he should have 4 solid wins on this comeback trail, but he's got 'em and he's obviously going to try to go all the way. Good on him I say and good luck... I'll be stoked if he gets a title and he's already out done my expectations in his recent performances... Go Holy! He's a legend now and win or lose he will always be...
