Yeah because oscar has never had trouble getting his second wind or losing to the very top guys on his record.

i think at the time it seems pac's win was more impressive. Because everyone expected him to lose. No one thought for a second pac would look so comfortable at 147. And people under estimated how terrible oscar would look at 147!

In Hindsight however, i think floyds win was fractionally better. Floyd fought oscar at his more natural weight of 154. Oscar was younger. and it felt like the event was set up for floyd to lose. Also in my opinion floyd clearly won the fight. Was surprised at the SD! Pac won in a more dominant fashion. And at the time it was a huge shock. But once we realised pac's still a beast at 147 and once the stories came out about how drained oscar was during the whole process its clear why pac dismantled him so badly. Taking nothing away from pac and like i said this is all in hindsight. But looking back i have to rate floyds win as better.

And this is coming from a pac fan.

He had a brilliant closing round against Quartey, he came out strong in the last round against Mosley 1 even if Mosley came out even stronger.

I think 'prime' is a bit of a stretch, but Floyd's win over a very well conditioned, very fit 154 Oscar should be considered an excellent win.

sosolid4u09 brought up really great points. at the time, it seemed PAC's win was like "holy ****", but he obviously is/was quite comfortable at that weight whereas Oscar at 147 looked like garbage. we didn't expect him to be such a non-factor in that fight.

i think the Oscar that if that Oscar which fought Floyd at 154 fought PAC at 154 (or even 150), the same result happens as did with Floyd. Oscar would lose by a close SD or UD, but it would certainly go the distance.

Floyd will be back this spring against either Berto or PAC. My money is on Berto in the spring and then PAC in the fall and then that's it. He calls it a career and walks away with an extra $100M in the bank.

Nope, I'm just saying that the dude at that weight was a different animal. He was huge at that weight and very fast and powerful. Hoya relied a lot on his athleticism throughout his career and he was at his physical peak at that weight. Both PBF and Pac i think have a much better chance at the best WW ODLH, although I think he'd win there too.

    Oscar himself admits he loss.:good

oscar was lucky to get the SD, which made the fight look closer than what it actually was.

Floyd vs De La Hoya was close.

Just because DLH admitted he lost doesn't take away from the fact that it was a close one. He's always been an incredibly humble, self-deprecating guy.

If Oscar had followed the game plan Roach set him, he would have won that fight.

That doesnt prove that he fought through his second wind, it just means he had the courage and grit to fight through half a round opposed to two or three.

It was scored close, but it wasn't really close. It was a clear win for Floyd over a bigger, stronger opponent.

Everybody has a gameplan for Mayweather until they get into the ring and he makes adjustments.

That is true, but i think he has always had trouble with second wind imo.
