Yes, because Clottey has never been accused of being dirty with his head.

You go on punch stats to determine who won?

NeckBreakn, i would like to see your scorecard for the fight man if you dont mind....

    Here is mine....

1 -pretty even round, clottey down
    round 1 ---- 10-8 ----- Cotto

2 - pretty even round, clottey is throwing very good punches... but then he doesnt do anything for 30 seconds.. and although their good punches nothings really bothering cotto while Cotto is doing as much but also controls the tempo
    round 2 ---- 10-9 ----- Cotto

3 - close even fight so far, im favoring cotto because to me hes dictating the pace of the fight, working the jab, is more active... while clottey to me when he does land, lands the harder punches... but just isnt doing enough for my taste.
*headbutt* at the end of round 3

    round 3 ---- 10-9 ----- Cotto *

4 - eye bothering cotto as he tries to sweep the blood out with his gloves, Clottey wins the first minute or so of the round big with a combo that gets cottos attention, looking good, then cotto starts landing his own punches towards the middle of the round (including a good left to the head) and then clottey starts backing up the rest of the round, then gets put in the corner, with cotto pressing and throwing again about twice as much if not more, throwing a combo, makes clottey miss, lands a body punch uppercut with 14 seconds left to go...
    round 4 ---- 10-9 ---- Cotto -

5 - Best punch of the round so far is a short right hand from clottey... winning the round so far, another good right hand by clottey... cotto throws a combo and goes to the body, another good right hand by clottey... clotteys round easy so far with some of the best punches of the fight, clottey throws the right, cotto slips it, turns clottey, backs clottey to the corner... clottey lunges at cotto and grabs him... cotto shrugs clottey off of him and clottey hits the deck... clottey is complaining.. takes time to recover
5th Round 10-9 ---- Clottey *most dominant round by eather fighter so far*

6 - They meet in the center of the ring... cotto throws a combo, ends it with a jab that gets through... clottey responds with some solid shots, cotto lands a left upstairs, a left and a right upstairs and he backs clottey to the ropes.. their trading back and forth with clottey against the ropes, then the corner, getting through with straight right hands... clottey landing decent shots towards the end of the round... but big round for cotto, his best in the fight so far
    Round 6 ---- 10-9 ---- Cotto

7 - Good round for clottey, landing good effective punches, this round is a bit worrying if your a cotto fan.... with 24 seconds left in the round clottey has landed 80 punches, and cottos landed 78 (according to compubox)

    round 7 ---- 10-8 ---- Clottey

8th - Cut bothering cotto as he continues to try and swipe away the blood - Clottey doing good work in this round imo, landing the right hand and pressing cotto.... clottey had his back against the ropes for a split second then flurried his way back to the center of the ring... good round for clottey, cotto landing a decent shot as he throws a combo little past wid way point... but then gets pressed again, starting to look like margarito fight, very worrying as a cotto fan i must admit.... thank god clottey doesnt have loaded gloves (j/k calm down) cotto fights clottey into the corner with 35 seconds left to go in the round, doing good work... but not enough, clottey wins the round.
    round 8 ---- 10-9 ---- Clottey

9th - the first minute or so all clottey, at 1:52 clottey lands a full extension right hand flush that snaps cottos head all the way back, anyone questioning cottos chin should watch that punch again, not looking good for cotto... clottey pressing him around the ring, starting to look like the margarito fight? cotto gets clottey in corner as crowd goes wild but this rounds still all clottey... hes landed some very very hard punches in this round, big round 9 for clottey
    Round 9 ---- 10-9 ---- Clottey

at this point id like to stop and say DAMN.... if cottos resolve has ever been questioned, this fight should answer it, he cant see out of his right eye and the dude is getting hit with some solid, SOLID shots.... props to both these guys.

10 - Not much to say with this round... Clottey chasing cotto, cotto trying to use his movement and box, cotto landed two nice left hooks with 10 seconds to go, but its been all clottey imo jim says cotto might have won the round off them maybe but no way... clotteys round

    Rund 10 ---- 10-9 ---- Clottey

11 - Cotto goes back to using his jab and throwing combos, both land ok but cottos winning the round as hes using the jab, throwing combos, clotteys just absorbing punches and walking forward at this point, clottey wakes up a bit towards the end of the round, lands a good punch at the bell, very good round by both fighters but to me cotto won that round off of boxing, using his jab.... combination punching. Good round for both fighters though

    - Jim just said by compubox 11th round they landed the same amount of punches, clottey 19 out of 47 and cotto 19 out of 54 -

    Round 11 --- 10-9 --- Cotto

12 - First half of the round nothing big.... clottey stalking forward with cotto trying to circle away... im dissapointed with cotto as he has to know this is a close fight, clottey complains about being hit behind the head... cotto starts to open up with some combos, announcers keep saying clottey hasnt thrown enough to win the round but imo hes thrown just as much as cotto so far... cotto backing up, avoiding a lot of shots, hits clottey with a combo, bell rings.... announcers seem to just assume cotto won that round but to me it was just as close as all the other rounds and a case could be made for clottey imo, if you actually look at whats going on clottey more then held his own that round, i could go eather way this one.

Round 12 ---- 10-9 ---- Cotto or an even round

    so... to recap

    1 - Cotto
    2 - Cotto
    3 - Cotto
    4 - Cotto
    5 - Clottey
    6 - Cotto
    7 - Clottey
    8 - Clottey
    9 - Clottey
    10 - Clottey
    11 - Cotto
    12 - Cotto/Even maybe

thats the way i scored it... i could go both ways on that last round and i think round 3 or 4, but i feel im being 100% and i can honestly say that i truly think cotto won that fight based on it being a very even fight in my eyes, but with Cotto being the one that scored the knockdown, and being the champion! I dont like how Cotto fought down the stretch but maybe he felt he had to with his eye, stamina, and how solid Clottey is.

Id like to see a round by round scorecard on this fight since you talk about it so much.

    No.

But those punch stats refute the claim that Clottey did absolutely nothing those rounds. He did more than Cotto did. So for all those that say he gave away the fight, it's ridiculous.

Of anything, Cotto gave it away by running for the last six rounds, but the judges gave it back to him.

How should he have punched more when he outlanded Cotto in those last rounds?

I tend to notice everyone that has clottey COMPLETELY ROBBED has yet produced their round by round scoring. Id simply like to see it so i can compare.

I scored 7 to 5 Cotto. Clottey could've been more agressive and tried to go for the KO in the later rounds.

Any boxing fan knows that in order to be the man you need to beat the man bka you need to take the champs belt not be given it. Any boxing fan watching knows that Clottey won that fight. Looking at the cards we all knew that it was settled that he would be robbed. At the same time, in hindsight, we know exactly why Clottey was robbed.

Clottey out landed Cotto by 50 punches.

I think I could have settled for him losing except that when the cards where read it was obvious he was "robbed".

116-111? Really? That is what turned a close fight into a robbery.

Your right i agree... He should of tried harder for the knockout just because he already knew he would get robbed
