Ali rated Liston very highly. I remember a Ring interview where he said Liston "could do everything but dance"; he really respected Liston's skills.

Well, the footwork is very important,he could not cut the ring and was walking in circle around the ring like a dumb, anyway ali also said that foreman was much better and faster than he did expect and still he got the false fame of super slow

I know. I can't decide if he's a troll or if he really DOES believe in what he's writing.

    Me either tbh.

Meant to acknowledge you earlier about biggest puncher ever. Agree there's too many years and too much uncertainty to say with any sureness that Shavers would be the biggest hitter ever. He's certainly the first name to throw in the hat tho and had his era covered.

What i said is that you don't have any proof to say that shavers did hit harder than foreman, words are not proofs,if you take words like facts then i can show you when you want that ali did think that tyson did hit harder than shavers, and every rival in common said that foreman did hit harder than tyson(tyson is on film saying that foreman did hit harder than him)still it is not a proof

The testimonies of THREE world class fighters who fought BOTH the men in question is a lot more than anyone else can offer. Create a combined list of all the punchers met by Ali, Norton and Young, and it would probably surmount to the largest sum of hitters ever faced by anyone.. And you still see no validity in their words?

Wtf has Tyson got to do with anything? If all those guys were saying Foreman hit harder than Shavers you'd be lapping it up like a kitten.

The tyson part is to show you that i also got a testimoty "as proof" Then shavers would not be the universal hardest puncher . words are nothing, take a punching power machine and you can prove it.you does not know if one of them catched his rival in common with a harder shot, foreman stopped lyle and shavers could not, norton in a interview of radio said that shavers and foreman did hit around the same, and ali was much better in 1974 than he was in 1977,he was pretty weak at that time and sick, foreman fought a peak YOUNG,shavers stopped a very green YOUNG ,i think that 74 foreman would have stopped 77ali.these are important factors.
I think actually that the myth of shavers being the hardest puncher ever is a joke,i put my money on tua,lewis,90 foreman, tyson between others as harder punchers than him with their best shot

Weight is the last thing to look at. Watch technique, watch power, watch a fighters jab, watch killer instinct, watch the things that make a fighter a great fighter. Weight is not one of them. Neither is physique, Neither is height.

Ali felt the power of some of the hardest punchers in boxing history. He stated Shavers hit him the hardest. Earnie was one hellacious puncher.

Why dont you make a thread about Liston vs someone who actually exists and make a well constructed argument there?
