The ref waving it off was the 10 count, would have been an 11 count if he got to 10 then waved it off. :yep

You don't stand up at nine when you are fighting away from home. Why take the risk?

To me, it did look as though the ref went from 9 to 10 awfully quickly.

However having said that, I do not think that Malik is at all what i was hoping he would be. I thought he would have the speed and skills to stay away from Chisora and make it an easy fight, but had it have been allowed to go on Scott probably would have been down 2 points with 4 rounds left, and based upon what I saw in the fight up to that point, I do not think he had it in him to win enough of those rounds to take the fight.

I had Scott winning by 2 or 3 rounds - he landed LOADS more on Chisora than the other way around. But that stoppage - Scott must look to himself for his first loss. You don't get up at 9. But I agree that was a fast count.

Both fighters looked ****. Malik should have known to get up at 8 if he was OK to continue, everyone knows this. If you get up at 9 your telling the ref your not OK, crazy

Either way neither fighters will do anything of note at heavyweight

I really wanted Chisora to win, but I think the ref should have used discretion. Scott left the count seriously close, but it was obvious that his head was clear and he could fight on.

On the other hand because Scott clearly wasn't that hurt. He should have just got up at 8 at the very latest.

Such a shame though. Was going to be a good fight from there on out.

Got up at 9.5, had lost his bottle and heart and clearly didn't want to carry on.

    Good decision in retrospect.

Ah ****. Missed the damn fight! Sister-in-Laws wedding do.

Ain't massively surprised, though I'd actually figured on Scott taking it. Guess Del Boy still got a bitta fire. Scott's plenty slick'n'quick enough for a HW but it's a division where you need to be able to get the stoppage.

What's all this about a bad count? Thought the fight ends on 10? Seen many, many times refs waving 'stead of saying ten. If you count to ten then wave you've given them more than ten, aincha?

Nah. I shouldn't stick my nose in 'til I seen the fight, an' how Malik actually looked. If he definitely looked ready to go on, refs discretion should probably have been to let him.

Scott either had terrible situational awareness, or he wanted a covert way out of the fight.

If Malik really wanted to continue, he handled things a little too well. That was about the weakest protest I've seen considering it was a close call.
