Are up in arms about another American supermiddle....Dirrell is still a propect and already that want him fighting top 5 guys...And giving him no shot to beat anyone.. Look you dude have to get use to it..I told you that the young American supermiddles were making a move two years ago, and I reminded you every so often...The problem for you guys is its not just going to be one, they are coming and there is about 5 or 6 of them
Haven't we heard all this about the likes of Green and Coddrington in the past as well? I love the way that American fans constantly accuse British and European fighters of being over-hyped and over-protected, and yet they fail to see that the same is usually at least equally true of many of their own fighters.
Name them. The rest of your post it bollocks by the way. Nobody is calling for Dirrell to step up against the top 5 just yet. He clearly isn't ready and won't be for a while, thats assuming he's ever going to be ready.
What a load of crap. It is US fans who call every European fighter hyped and protected. I have not seen a single European poster saying Dirrell should be fighting a top 5 guy. Who are these 5 or 6 fighters? The best I see is Danny Jacobs, so who are this other group you are so impressed with?
Yes, still waiting on those five or six names... As for Dirrell, he does not look anything like a hype-job to me. He has all the skills and speed to dominate. Whether he can live up to his potential, and whether his defense can withstand a top 10 SMW has yet to be determined, but the guy's only 26. Give him a couple of years.
There's Jacobs, there's Dirrell and there's Ward. Jacob's the best of the lot but will not be ready for a title shot until 2011, I'd say. He needs to work on the D a lot. He seems to have the skills to be a good beltholder at least, one day...but it's early days, for sure. Dirrell, we've already spoken about. Ward's good too, but he has a long way to go. The earliest either of them could be ready to try their luck at a belt is 2010, I'd say. Neither have been tested. Let's wish them the best, but without jumping the gun. We've seen countless cases in which highly skilled, smooth prospects were hyped to the heavens, only to come undone the first time they stepped up to world class level opposition. And...before you fight world class guys, you have to get past the C+ level guys, and neither of them have fought someone like Haussler, Tatevosyan, Zuniga, say, yet. Oganov was overrated like hell, but he's not C+...
