Does Broner strike you as someone with the mental make-up to overcome a loss against someone he was heavily favored to beat?

This is not Canelo losing to Floyd, this was a beat down and a boxing lesson at the hands of a slugger after all the hype.

    IMO, he's done.

Still a Broner fan. He just needs to cut down on the "in ring arrogance." It really bothers me and certainly does not help him win fights.

Broner is still a talented fighter and has some more good fights in him. He should get himself some real trainers, and not just his boys who are going to blow smoke up his ass all day.

I have no doubt Broner can become champ again and hold the belt til he retires if he follows the pattern of his early career: fight smaller guys who can't punch and rob them when they win. Problem is that GBP is getting away from cherrypicking and is now making their guys fight semi-legit fights. I can see him picking up a title again because there's 4 of them, but sooner or later things will shake out to where Mayweather, Bradley, and Thurman are the only titleholders.

Everything Broner didn't do against Marcos is correctable. The only thing that may not be is his work ethic. I want to pile on like everyone else, but I think he has real talent, I don't think he's a hype job or any of that nonsense. When I saw how fat he was at the initial presser, I laughed. Broner is banging strippers and going on tour, Marcos was training for a prizefight. An ass whooping is usually a humbling experience, I'm anxious to see how Broner responds.

it's not a given that he will bounce back. look at naseem hamed, a guy equally polarizing, and a guy who also, in his most important fight, failed massively. i'd love to see broner come back better and more focused than ever, but we really have to wait and see how it plays out. the one thing I do think he has in his favor, is his resolve. he showed saturday night, despite attempting to sell the headbutt from maidana, and the in-fight antics, that he is a fighter, and that he's not coming to lay down. that characteristic has to help him going forward.

Not sure how , he bypassed 140 because it was too tough and Maidana is really only a 140 lb fighter anyhow.

Naz lost by 4 rounds to Barrera , thats hardly failing massively. Maidana isnt that good nowhere near the level of Barrera and handed him an ass whopping. Also his resolve?? We were watching different fights , constantly complaining to the ref that he was getting hit , falling over like a little girl to try and get Maidana DQ'd then running out of the ring is not exactly the stuff of legend.

He was exposed, he wasn't knocked out by a single semi-lucky punch , but he was outboxed by B level boxer/puncher . Broner was never and will never be elite, he's flatfooted, stationary, no ring IQ and shitty defense. He's nothing special.

He was never good all his fights were cherry picked but as we all seen he did a bad job of that by picking Maidana , just think what would happen to him if he fought Danny Garcia or Keith Thurman.

To call your self the best fighter you first have to fight the best fighters of you division.

I never said naz was broner, or that barrera was maidana, or some equivalent. my point was that both naz and broner didn't come close to living up to the hype that preceded them going into their most important fights, and that in terms of confidence, like naseem, it's a coin toss as to how broner bounces back. also, we can agree to disagree on how broner fared as a fighter against maidana. despite the foolish, and some would call, cowardly tactics broner used at times during the fight, in my opinion he redeemed himself by being one half of an absolute barnburner, getting knocked down twice, staying in the pocket at points with a guy who was beating him up, and finishing the fight ON HIS FEET. those things overshadow the undesirable tactics in my opinion. I'm sure you disagree, but that's fine.

    He's 24 not 23

He will be back like berto. New camp, new trainer, new attitude, maybe some PEDS.......and he will get brutally beat again when he steps up. He just doesn't have the talent to cut it, neither did berto.

In broners own words "you can't train talent"

He will be back. Everyone relax....he has very good skills and is very talented. It will be interesting to see if the loss has any residual effects or if he just picks up where he was before the loss. He is a very immature 24 year old so you never know where he's at mentally.

I tell you one thing.....he should consider moving south if he really wants to etch out a great legacy. He has a great start at 24....3 division champ....140 strap would make it 4 divisions....his resume is a little light but at 140 he could really add some depth to his resume. He needs time to mature physically to match up with the best at 147.
