I met a fighter whose trainer encouraged their fighter to crash their heads voluntarily into the bag much the Thai boxers do with their shins. Is there any science that can back up this drill to improve tolerance to pain?
yes of course. Boxing is sport for real man, not girls! and lol on heavy bag, you won`t improve tolerance! we do it on a concrete wall after set of wall sits.
The way real men do this particular form of training is to get a friend to smash them in the face multiple times with a cricket bat. Personally I think this training is a bit OTT but there you go.
