"Remember when Wilder was dropped by Nichols"

    False.

"More so than Ruiz, by quite a margin"

False. A motivated Molina punches harder than Ruiz, who made AJ quit.

    "Wilders words"

    Wilder's a moron but a top fighter. You're just a moron.

I can only find three fights with the mythical blonde Ortiz (or Ortiz as a pro pre-Barrett in general) I don't know if anyone has others.

    Ortiz-Butler, April 2011

Ortiz looked good in these fights, won every round clearly and beat them all inside the distance. It's a shame that he turned pro on the cusp of his 31st birthday (if not older) and was so poorly managed and promoted after that, in addition to being ducked. He made a statement at 3-0 stopping 53 fight veteran Zack Page, who was in the midst of a 6 year, 44 fight streak where only Ortiz stopped him among a slew of contenders and former/future champions. Ortiz then had 3.5 years of his career wasted fighting worse opposition than Page, as a result we never saw his best form. Ortiz should have fought Barrett in his 5th fight rather than his 22nd.

I recommend Ortiz—Kayode. It was basically Blond Ortiz after a mishap at the barber.

Solis was a great amateur and a very poor pro (relative to the hype) Ortiz was a good amateur and a good pro. Many great amateurs have failed in the pros, while fighters with far lesser amateur records than Ortiz have been massively successful in the pros. There are also plenty of cases of fighters winning an amateur bout under those rules who would have zero chance in the pros years later (unless you believe Porter or Korobov could beat CW/HW Usyk).

Devastating performance but post-Barrett. The 3 fights I linked are among 21 fights pre-Barrett, 18 of which I haven't seen.

Solis is the best heavyweight am to have ever been a pro. Too bad his pro career sucked. The knee blow out had to happen a round in against Vitali and not ten rounds in. His career was effectively finished after that.
