Well, Floyd was certainly taller and had a longer reach anyway. But that's kind of an odd explanation, given that Floyd fought more than half of his career at 130, and Pea started his at 135, and the fact that Pea had significantly more fights at welterweight than Floyd. :huh

 

I think Mayweather takes it.

FLoyd has a tendency to kind of stoop down to the level of his opposition and do just enough to "nick" rounds for the last 8 or 9 years.

In this situation, I think Pernell would bring the best out of FLoyd. Aside from his physical advantages such as height and reach advantage, I think Floyd''s also a little quicker than Pernell of both hand and foot. Although I could see Pernell putting together the nicer combinations, I think Floyd would win a competitive decision and be just a little more focused and a bit more accurate than the great Pea Whitaker.

I don't see May as faster a foot at all. In fact, I'd say Whitaker's foot movement is decisively better.
