haymon will drive showtime right into the ground with these crap cards and the casinos will end up with most of floyds money that he doesn't throw away on other **** first.

For all the concerns about what Haymon eventually leaving Golden Boy will do to the company, I wonder if there shouldn't be the same concerns about what happens at Showtime.

They have to be losing money on this Floyd deal with 3 of the 4 PPV's doing below expectations.
Haymon is only giving them crap fights now most likely in preparation for his NBC deal next year.
So, what happens next year? Does Haymon get enough dates from NBC/NBC Sports where he doesn't need Showtime anymore? Or does he just give them leftovers?

Showtime has made a large investment into boxing between Floyd and increased budgets for monthly fights and neither the PPV figures or their monthly ratings are reflecting it. They've alienated everyone outside of GBP and Haymon and now GBP may be moving Canelo back to HBO.

    I agree heads will roll.

See how quickly things can go bottoms up, no less than nine months Showtime was going to bury HBO, and now its starting to come crashing to the ground.:rofl
Maybe had Showtime tried to build new stars like GGG and Kovalev instead of stealing HBO's they would have had a more solid foundation to build on.

Where did you pull those numbers?
The whole "They need to sell at least 1.5mil" is also unbelievable.
Thats about 112.5 million dollars in revenue. You can cut that in half and you would still be OK because of foreign TV rights, the live gate and other sources of revenue.

Showtime boxing is a joke now. ESPN puts on more competitive fights. Maybe they show more b, and c level matchups, but at least the b, and c level guys fight each other.
On Showcase boxing you often get a B level against a D level no hoper in the co feature, and an A level guy in the main event against a C level opponent.
Then after thanking Al Haymon they proceed to talk about fighting the B level guy who was in the co-feature only to fight another C level opponent instead.:patsch

the first maidana fight had 2 big names on the undercard albeit facing poor opponents and got 850,000 ppv`s, this second fight had a non-existent undercard and a very dis-interested build up, i think it will have struggled to make 700,000 ppv`s, of course we`ll never know cos dis-appointing numbers will never be released.
nobody really knows the terms and conditions imposed on mayweather for his contract with showtime, but it wouldn`t surprise me if he is forced to fight a serious foe if he is to continue being paid so handsomely.

That will be a huge understatement. A huge chunk of the PPV sales will go to the network and they're paying Floyd $32 million Maidana $3 plus the undercard and promotion. Espinoza will be fired before the second week of October. I'm willing to do 1 month bet to any ***** about this firing.
