Absolutely, same day weigh in's means you'll be fighting close to your natural fighting weight. It's ridiculous watching someone fight for the lightweight title who weighs in at jr. middleweight on fight night

I dont disagree with what u say about a lightweight weighing in at as a jr middleweight....i agree thats ridiculous. Same day weigh ins were stopped for a reason....and i wouldnt want to go back to it being that way. its a sport where folk want every advantage they can get....and being 4 or 5 pounds lighter makes a massive difference. What the answer to it all is i dont know....the amount folk can rehydrate is nonsense....so maybe rehydration clauses and maximum weight for entering the ring need to be considered

Shortening championship fights to 12 rounds was one of the worst - and most unnecessary - things that has been done to the sport in my 40 years of following the sport. And let's be clear, although it was justified as a "safety measure" it was largely motivated by the desire to reduce fight length to fit into one-hour network timeslots. The inevitable result has been an increase in disputed decisions and fights where fans and fighters are deprived of the "championship rounds" we all deserve.

Im sure it was Hagler that said those last 3 rounds in a 15 round fight seperated the men from the boys

I agree with this. I think weigh in should be done before going in the ring then that would get rid of people rehydrating even over 24 hours..

It would just eliminate that as an advantage and reduce health risks.
