Heard both Lomachenko and Rigondeaux looked awful. Is this true??

Lomachenko was throwing far more and trying to make it into a fight is missing from this comment. He was also displaying complete ring dominance, only broken by Rigo holding and illegally ducking below the beltline.

Following the 1st round all Rigo was interested in doing was surviving and not getting caught. He had barely any attempted offensive moments the entire fight and its time more people gave Loma credit for that.

Loma deserves more credit than he is getting here for a big win. A legacy win.

Lomachenko boxed well and did what he had to do, it was a very good performance.

Rigo hardly went out on his shield did he?

    He quit

I never expected him to go out on his shield but I didn't think the turtle would be so quick to hide in his shell.

Yeah really he showed no interest when things were not going for him, a trait which is common in many Cubans

How should have Lomachenko landed more punches against an opponent that didn't really want to fight, was passive and constantly displayed negative tactics like holding, ducking below the waist line, etc.?

Considering the circumstances, Loma looked as good as one possibly could. Rigo held every chance he could, finally having a point deducted. Once the point was deducted Rigo seemed to think there was no way in hell he could survive.

Lomachenko was clowning Rigo, how does that equate to looking awful?

Rigo took the first round, but after that the size difference was too much. Loma on pure size alone was able to easily bully Rigo. Rigo also started looking gassed around the 3rd round. Loma might really be the goods, but he needs to fight better competition to prove it. Hopefully he moves up to 135, since 130 has very poor competition.

This ugly rat should take his boring communist style of boxing back to Cuba and fight against North Koreans for communist style bicycles.

It was definitely going 12 rounds, Loma wasn't landing much in terms of hard shots, mostly pity pat and missing. To answer the OPs question, Loma didn't look bad, he didn't look great though either. Rigondeaux kinda stunk it up, too defensive, too slow of foot, too small, not trying to implement Diaz game plan, etc. Didn't exchange with Loma, simply ducked away, and didn't counter when he slipped and made Loma miss. Held excessively as well. Loma was making him try to think too fast. At points Rigs had the right idea, but he's not use to fighting at that speed. Loma would attack, and Rigs would slip out or backwards, but wouldn't counter. Didn't want to take the chance. The left hand counter was there everytime Loma came in on him, he just wouldn't pull the trigger. I saw him attempt it once and he missed. Can't give up that easy. Diaz was pissed in the corner.

Wow. It's stunning how few are able to see the big picture here. It's hard to look good against a negative fighter like Rigondeaux. Still Lomachenko tried to make it a fight and looked impressive to me. Size difference had nothing to do with the outcome.
