I’m sure I’ve heard him talking up the prospect of bringing Loma over to the UK to fight Campbell. It’s just now that he knows one of his boys ain’t getting a freebie title that the toys have be thrown out the pram. As for the WBC ruling on Loma being able to challenge for the vacant belt, yes I find it bizarre since it basically devalues their own rankings. But Hearn complaining about it is laughable, he has certainly changed his tune from when the WBA decided to though their super-belt into the mix for Joshua Klitschko for no apparent reason.
Are you sure there was 'no apparent reason' for the WBA to have their title involved in the Joshua Klitschko fight?
It was defo fake outrage. After this fight, the next announcement will be "Loma signs £100m deal with DAZN" now Hearn has fed him a couple brits to build his reputation.
I have no problem with the best fighter in the division getting a shot at another title. Rather that than 2 B level contenders fighting for a vacant title.
I'm all for it. No real interest in seeing 2 guys fight for the right to give the title to Loma. People are raging about it on Twitter for some odd reason.
I realise Eddie wants his fighter to win a world title but I want the best fighters to fight each other and Loma is the top fighter at lightweight so put him in with the next best guy . If that guy is Luke Campbell good for him a chance to win the title against a great fighter and currently he stands as good a chance as any lightweight.
I thought his new found concern for the rights of Abulaeev was very touching after he'd spent the previous week trying to sideline him in favour of Haney due to Ramadan...
I think he is upset Haney has to fight 2 eliminators. Or an eliminator and a mandatory before fighting for the WBC belt. His next problem is Haney would have to fight lomachenko should he win the mandatory fight.
Expect Haney to soon go down another route as would have Campbell if he know who he would need to fight for the vacant title.
Eddie is pissed off probably because he’s got the Whyte/WBC issue firmly on his mind, I think he’d alright with it otherwise. Campbell would most likely be fighting Loma anyway after so not sure it matters, time for Luke to step up...
I think he knows that other promoters have whispered in their ear and got what they wanted. He's lost a chance at getting a belt contested by two guys signed to his network and thus a couple of big fights at the right price.
