Matias failed a drug test. His fight for the WBC title with Dalton Smith in doubt.

Turki needs to step in and just get the Azim fight made next.

That fight needs to be over here, not down a Saudi undercard.

Genuine narcissist behaviour; he seems to think standards should be applied only one way, and that we all share the adoration that Eddie Hearn has for Eddie Hearn, to the extent we will all forget his blatantly contradictory comments.

Eddie’s stuck in a double bind. He has to protect the idealised version of himself and Matchroom, so he keeps bullshitting even though he knows it, we know it and everyone knows it. He carries on just to look “consistent” instead of a walking contradiction, and it’s turned him into a parody of himself, same way John Fury has gone.

And that’s how this stuff always plays out. Keep the false narrative going long enough and you get trapped in it. You see the same thing with Conor Benn, especially after the win.

They’re a bit like OJ in the media-circus sense, always trying to find a glove that fits so they can sell whatever bull**** they’re pushing that week.

It seems Hearn’s barometer of whether you’re guilty or not is whether or not you cry in his office.

He was a proper scumbag last night in Riyadh talking down Devin Haney’s performance. I get that he is promoting his fighter but there’s no need to blatantly lie and talk down one of his former fighters after a terrific display that proved so many people wrong.

Devin didn’t run. He stayed right in front of Norman Jr all night and check hooked the f out of him. It was brilliant. Fair play to Kate Scott for challenging his nonsense.

I’d love to see Haney take on Benn in the UK and teach him a boxing lesson. I think Haney could stop him. There’s absolutely no chance Benn will be strong at 147 anymore and Haney is in a different league.

Even worse when you consider Haney got a beating off someone who failed a drug tests after.

I wouldn't class it as 'terrific'', it was dominant but boring.

But yeah Haney schools Benn all day long, Benn has a decent chance against the other three champions though.

That’s just Eddie being Hearn. I mean, look how different he was back when he was promoting Haney:

“Devin Haney is a superstar and will become a multiple-weight world champion… He’s 20-years-old, he’s 22-0… This is a true, true talent who has skill. That was like watching an artist draw a beautiful picture and then at the end, just sign his name off and say good night.”
    – Eddie Hearn, Sky Sports 2019

    https://www.skysports.com/boxing/ne...-will-become-a-multiple-weight-world-champion

Night and day compared to the way he was talking about him last night.

I thought it was very good. I wasn’t bored at all. Perhaps the extremely low expectations after the New York performance is a factor in how I perceived it but the fact is he didn’t run, he stood his ground and beat him to the punch. Yes he could have turned the screw and gone for the stoppage but I felt he was always looking for the stoppage, he was just being conservative and fair play because Mason went a bit OTT against Noakes and got sucked into a very close fight.

Anyway Benn can hardly talk, his performances against Eubank have become mythical. He wasn’t that good. First fight it was his durability that got plaudits and rightly so. Second fight he’s in there with a visible shell of a fighter in Eubank and barely put a dent into him until the end. It was not the exciting gung ho fight that he and Hearn are making out post fight.

Really pleased for Haney after all the hate he got since the Garcia fight and would just love him to come here for Benn. I think his old man would be brilliant in the build up putting Hearn in his place too.

Benn was literally proven not guilty.

He was ‘cleared to fight’ because they couldn’t prove he knowingly took Clomifene. Clomifene is used for 2 things; to increase testosterone levels in men, or as a female fertility drug. The body doesn’t naturally produce it, so he was either trying to increase his testosterone, or trying to get pregnant.

There is a very very slight chance it could come from food, but you’re talking like 40 eggs a day. There’s an interview with Benn in 2021 saying he doesn’t really like eggs too so I doubt he’s knocking back 40 a day.

All that is before seeing the increase in his power before his two failed tests, and the drop off since.

He hired expensive lawyers to back the BBBoC (who don’t have a pot to pee in) into a corner and get him off on jurisdiction.

If you believe he’s not guilty then you have no hope tbh.
