My point is: There is no way on God's earth Hearn would announce a two-fight Wembley deal if for one moment he thought AJ would lose to Povetkin and have to invoke the rematch clause which will be written into the contract. In the very unlikely event AJ is KO'd by 39-year-old Povetkin (he can't win on points), 90,000 would be a much harder sell as many of AJ's casual fans would lose interest. So we can conclude from this announcement in conjunction with the April offer to Wilder - which is still on the table - Hearn is overlooking Sasha. I hope AJ is being more thoughtful in his preparation. I'm sure he is, but Hearn is telegraphing how little regard he has for Povetkin.

I agree Whyte is being lined up next if the Wilder fight can't be made but only if AJ leaves with the 'W' against Povetkin. Fury won't be ready by April.

very true. but he makes the most money he can ever make fighting wilder and or fury, and win either of them fights will make his brand worth even more millions once he retires, i dont think hearn/sky/ajbxing will let him retire without fightin them 2, everyone involved in aj's career will get a piece of the pie for those 2 fights so they wont let him retire without fighting them

That makes the most sense to me. Though obviously a few things could go wrong. Povetkin winning as you mentioned or if Parker beats Whyte, I don't think anyone wants to see Joshua/Parker 2 so soon.

Agreed, that fight would be a tough sell too. Parker has been granted a relatively short camp for the Whyte fight and I'm not sure he's the most dedicated trainer between bouts. Not convinced he will be in the same shape vs Dillian he was vs Joshua so I can see Whyte getting the win on points with some friendly judging perhaps helping him out as well. Joshua vs Whyte sells itself....

    Yes

I think Hearn is implying recklessness to assume Joshua is going to beat a very talented and effective mandatory like Povetkin.

I predict Povetkin will win this September fight and he will also rematch Joshua in the coming spring fight Hearn’s already cocky enough to book

Povetkin just got his next two fights already booked for him
