Best be something on the boy Selby in part 2. Biggest G in Hearns super stable and he dont even get a mention.

So no Groves-Stieglitz. I told you guys this yesterday. The risk is too high to lose against A unkown and underrated Stieglitz. Also the reward (WBO-belt) is not very high. But I am very suprised that Hearn wants to match Groves with Bika/Periban. It seems they think that Groves has more chances against these guys.

I agree Stieglitz is underrated but he's definitely beatable, I think him and Groves is a good 50/50 fight.

Of course he is. But as I said it would be a hard fight and the risk to lose against an unkown and underrated fighter is too high. Stieglitz had his best performance in his last fight. I mean it says all when Hearn wants to match Groves with Bika/Periban instead Stieglitz. Next to that the WBO belt is not that important like the WBC belt.
It even could be that Groves does not get a title fight this year. Instead it could be "just" a fight against a big name.:good

The way Groves has been matched in his last few fights he doesn't deserve a title shot, its all well and good getting world class sparring but he needs to put it to test against world class fighters and earn a shot, I still think him and Froch will fight later in the year as much as it disgusts me.

I dont see why the WBO belt isnt as valued as the WBC.

The WBC is a corrupt outfit, you only have to look at the way that belt is vacant right now, and how they refuse to allow their champions hold other belts.

If Chavez Jr moves up he will be fighting for the WBC belt , Groves will not imo.

Both belts are as useless as each other, both materialistic symbols of corruption and greed.

Unlikely. Burns' last fight was a failure in terms of audience figures.

He'll never be a PPV fighter thankfully.

    What were the Burns figures?

That must be disappointing seeing as hes a world champion. He needs a big unification fight though.

I wouldn't have a problem with Burns headlining a PPV providing it was on a really good card, not against Rees obviously no disrespect to the Rees but Burns should be looking higher at this stage of his career.

A PPV card for me would be something like this.

    Burns/Broner.
    Rees/Mitchell.
    Frampton/Quigg.
    Groves/Degale.
    Selby/Choi.

    11/05/2013 Ricky Burns - Jose A Gonzalez - Did not make Top 10 - (SS1 #10 273,000 FOOTBALL GOLD)

A classic football match got more viewers than his title defence.

He has zero chance of ever being a PPV fighter imo. They just wouldn't get the numbers.

I dont mind watching a short interview, I quite like Eddie Hearn. 90 minutes of those 2 I think not!

Id imagine Groves only got a lofty ranking with the WBO cos he was with FW, now he's with Eddie they aint gonna force his mandatory for ages - probably be nine months or so before they even put it out to purse bids. Plus there will be a rubber match with Abraham already signed.

    Hence another route for Groves

Stieglitz is fighting AA again anyway, the first fight ended with an eye injury and that fight makes money in Germany so that's what is happening next regardless of Hearn or Groves wanting the fight. They'll wait and see who wins that then probably make a decision from there. I could easily see Groves boxing and moving to a decision over AA should he win the belt back from Stieglitz so perhaps that will be a better fight for him that Stieglitz who has good fitness and work rate. I don't think Hearn or Groves are especially worried about Stieglitz being too good for them, I certainly wouldn't say he's a harder fight than Bika.
