Benn has just fought a former World champion and will likely fight another in Hooker. Benn said he would fight 3 times this year, if fights a legit top 10 guy I don't see what the issue is.
By the way, it is interesting that Florian Marku has just signed a long-term agreement with Boxxer / Sky Sports. Eddie Hearn avoids listening to suggestions for a fight between Conor Benn and Florian Marku.
You have this habit of ignoring context when it suits but at the same time would be all over a Fury v Stiverne fight and rightly so.
Your beloved Fury and Wilder didn't fight for a world title untill Fury was 27 years old 24 fights in and Wilder 29 years old and 32 fights (both of whom had more amatuer background than Benn). Why the demand to rush Benn?
Because Hearn and Benn keep shouting out about fighting for World Titles. They haven't even fought for The British (nor ever mentioned it). This is what annoys people about these two individuals. Either poop or get off the pot.
You don't seem to realise Florian Marku is absolutely terrible . He went life and death with Rylan Charlton!
And Fury wasn't calling for a world title fight in his fights leading up to title fight? You can't blame a fighter having confidence in himself. Neither can you blame a promoter for providing hype for his talented young fighter.
20 fights in and Benn has already beaten a former WC and its looking likely he will fight another former WC next in Hooker. Fury didn't beat a former WC untill his 21st fight and Wilder didn't beat a former WC untill his 29th fight.
I'm not going to comment on whether Florian Marku is good or bad, but if Matchroom had signed him, then several would have asked for a fight between Conor Benn and Florian Marku. Eddie Hearn is avoiding that now.
Come on Mitch, Algieri was world champion that long ago you’d not even written your first CV by then.
18 fights in and a proper fighter Josh Taylor is undisputed. No daft hype or call outs along the way, just got on with business. It’s the likes of Benn, Hearn and Bellew talking about world titles in 2022 and Spence and Crawford that rubs people up the wrong way because they can see straight through it.
Algieri still comes in at very good shape and had only lost to Khan, Pac and Spence. Overall I don't think is any doubt Algieri was improvment over Benns previous opponents. As would Hooker be over Algieri.
It’s a gradual career progress and you’re right the opponent level is getting slowly stepped up but leave all the crap to one side.
