It is clear what is going on at Sky Boxing - different promoter, same spin, same shyte, same smell of shyte. Thought Earn was the sole reason behind this over the past few years but clearly not.
How funny would it be if Hearn does make the fight between Benn and the winner of Khan/Brook, and they end up beating him?
This thread didn't age well. Just look at who Avanesyan is fighting next. He needs Benn, Benn doesn't need him.
The Matchroom UK stable is absolute garbage so no idea why he constantly refers to Matchroom as the best and saying other people aren’t on his/their level. Who does he even have in this country anymore? Joshua - never fought on DAZN and is one more defeat (very likely) away from being finished Whyte - about to get beat Callum Smith - fights once a year Warrington - not won in 3 years ...struggling now
Hearn is seething because Eubank Jr vs Williams did better numbers by some margin than anything 'superstar' Benn can do and so will Khan vs Brook. Which despite what Hearn tries to claim, is a fight he was desperate to put on himself. Conor Benn is a bang average manufactured hype job who wouldn't even fight Chis Kongo because he knew he'd get beat. That is the long and short of it. And don't believe the spin either about Benn being too big of a name to fight for the European title, which is absolutely ludicrous as it is, because without the Sky marketing machine behind him, no one is buying the bs that Hearn is trying to sell here and Benn isn't even that popular.
True. Hearn having to put a prospect in a 6 rounder as co-main to fill out a 7000 seat venue shows the pull/marketing of DAZN.
Well written with good points. Keep in mind that it is only 8 months since Eddie Hearn / Matchroom had their last show on Sky Sports and since then it has only gone one way for Matchroom Boxing. It's incredible how fast the boxing landscape has changed.
