Is 400,000 that impressive when boxing in it's heyday got 15 odd million on terrestrial TV?

Same when the yanks say a PPV has done 2million. Their heyday was probably something ridiculous like 50-60 million.

What's not dead is boxers get paid millions to con the fans.

Mugs i.e. fans, paid Joshua millions for what should've been a British Title/Eliminator type fight!

I suppose that's what the professional boxing game always amounted to. If the promoters can sell a relatively insignificant fight or a mismatch for mega-money they will do.

Different times. Free TV doesn't produce the money needed. Any fighter who says they don't want to be a star on ppv is lying.

How is he meant to retain his hunger for the game earning such fortunes so early? Easy come, easy go.

"the money needed" - More justification of millions and millions being paid.

Boxing has always lived on the fact that boxers risk their lives but the money they get paid for the work they put in is ridiculous.

At least footballers get paid millions but ply their trade some 50-70 odd times per year. They might have 4-6 weeks off overall. In the UK they'll train through Xmas and New Year. And most importantly... they'll compete at the highest level without fail! Footballers have to live a particular lifestyle, whereas boxers can come to fight fat, out of shape or miss weight.

It's the same for most other reputable sports i.e. Tennis where they compete regularly to stay in the rankings and they are competing at the highest level constantly.

The business model for boxing is a joke that literally only favours the people trying to make money. Boxing thrives on the fact that people are stupid and will do what you tell them to.

The training boxers do in preparation for a fight is far more intense than what footballers do on a daily basis. A footballer will train for a few hours in the morning, usually light sessions then have the rest of the day to do what the hell they like.

Boxers deserve all the money they can get, getting punched in face for a living whilst risking your life every time you get in the ring is far more deserving of mega bucks compared to others sports.

Think 1.5 million is closer to what AJ got paid expenses 30% manager /trainer fee 45% income tax leaves him 25%...he will self manage and in time promote himself to maximize income

Wilder is a Haymon fighter for starters. There is nobody on Hearns roster getting Al Haymon fighter paydays (unless they work with both e.g. Degale)
