    They HAD to sign Canelo.

I read the Anthony Joshua-Alexander Povetkin "free" fight resulted in the download of roughly 15,000 DAZN apps in the U.S.

    15,000.

That's why Canelo (himself) got roughly a third of the entire budget DAZN gave to Hearn.

While they "had" to sign Canelo, because Joshua's "free" fight didn't result in any downloads, giving Canelo "SO MUCH" of the pie to take on anyone he likes has backfired for cable networks before.

He can fight any clown he likes and make as much as he would fighting the toughest guy in the division. So why fight the toughest guys in the division?

With PPV, sales would go up or down depending on the opponent. And a the "B side" opponent without a guarantee could see his check increase dramatically based on the number of sales.

Without PPV, Canelo gets his $35 million a fight. And his opponent gets what? $1 million? Or less?

You can't complain about the guys Canelo has fought to date.

But don't be surprised if the quality level of his opponents plummets.

What was the source for that 15k claim?

Hearn said the rating on DAZN for AJ v Povetkin was slightly lower than AJ vs Parker on showtime. That rating was 346,000 so the 15k claim was BS

An alternative theory is that the guys who have drafted this deal have thought this through before committing $365 million dollars and have structured the agreement such that Canelo needs to fulfill certain criteria both in his conduct and in the choice of opponents.

But of course you may be right and they could just have given him the money and told him to fight anyone he likes...

I ain’t buying no AJ fight till he fights Wilder, Ortiz or Fury if he beats Wilder. If Canelo doesn’t find a big name then I imagine we will get his fights for free because boxnation were previously showing them for free.

Is that why he's fighting a Prizefighter tournament winner next for $36.5 million?

Because they structured his agreement to fight the best fighters?

    (LOL)

Who will he fight after Fielding, since he makes the same regardless?

Someone who can beat him or someone who 99.9 percent of the time probably wouldn't?

Use your loaf mate. Put these pieces together:

    • $365m investment
    • Company full of serious experienced businesspeople
    • Best lawyers in business on tap
    • In house boxing advice from highest level of sport
If you can honestly put those together and to come up with , Canelo gets the money regardless of who he fights get ready for the roadsweepers... Then get yourself to A and E quick as possible.

And that was likely the live figures. new subscribers will be joining with every show and retrospectively watch the fights. They are not only buying the live event the are building a library

You can go to Google play and see how many times the app has been downloaded. I'm sure 15,000 new users signed up for the AJ card, but they have had over a million downloads of the app so far.

    This.

For what would normally be the price of a single Canelo PPV you can have that plus months of whatever other content they put on the platform. Not sure why anyone would want to **** on that BEFORE it's proven to be unworkable.

Some people on here are so tribally loyal/against certain promoters though that nothing will change their deranged minds. I mean, how the **** can you be a Haymon fan at this point? It was weird enough when it looked like Haymon might be a positive force within boxing but now...

Do you not need a US address and debit/credit card registered to a US address to sign up to DAZN?

I thought living in California was out of control expensive until I watched a show on how much it cost to live in the UK. You guys definitely won't be paying for $90 PPVs for nothing. Its getting tight over here too and with inflation on the horizon and the dollar dump going on that people are not paying attention to Oscar and the crew are ahead of their time doing this deal. Everybody is about to feel the pain financially.

He was already fighting Fielding before the DAZN deal, the fight was made by Golden Boy.

Hearn is actually very good for boxing in general, you can hate him all you like but in the land of weasels he is the one who elevated British boxing and now he is on his way to elevating US boxing as well. Every single promoter contradicts what they say, every promoter is a wan^& but that's their job. The only criticism Hearn can rightfully receive is not making the AJ - Wilder fight, of course there is the other side of the coin, Wilder's team being absolute shambles. I don't necessarily like Hearn but out of all the promoters in boxing, I dislike him the least.
