That’s the number Usyk’s promoter said they were, would seem about right to me. Unless you think it done over 400 with Warrington - frampton on the same night?
Well, he could owe him 25% ... at a minimum ... if Whyte has his way. (LOL) And that would come with no rematch clause. So if Whyte wins, he's not stuck giving Joshua an immediate rematch and giving Joshua the lion's share for the return bout, too. Clearly, given what Hearn has offered, going the mando route is the better option. Or Hearn needs to up his offer, which he likely won't do.
I'm sure when Whyte signed with Hearn he didn't think he was going to have to wait until 2019 to get a rematch with Joshua. Trying his luck with the WBO probably sounds like a better option at this point. It certainly gives him more upfront money (25%) and lets him call the shots if he should win (no options with Hearn, no immediate rematch clauses). We'll see.
Why not that long? He got KTFO and knew Joshua was gonna be a star moving onto bigger and better things. Whyte has done well to pick himself up from the defeat and put himself in a good position but is Whyte would have been naive at the time of signing if he thought a rematch would have been fully garaunteed. Would you say Ortiz is garaunteed another shot at a world title? He got KTFO is similar style just under a year ago.
Usyks promoter doesn’t seem like a reliable source to me for that information. I’m not saying it did more or less, I literally have no idea but I ain’t gonna take Usyk promoters words on a Dillian Whyte fight figures.
Dillian Whyte, Chisora, David Haye, Sky sports representative like Adam Smith, Eddie Hearn although he can bend the truth will at least be the most knowledgeable on the topic
Why would Hearn get rid of his second biggest PPV star just entering his prime? After all that hard work building him up. You don't throw money like that in the bin. But your point is irrelevant because you don' t know the pot. 5/30 is bad... 5/12 is good. Carefully selected opponents? Chisora fight was fight of the year... and guess what...you can't link it back to AJ... and guess what... it was good fight because Chisora and Whyte put on a good fight because of their chemistry. End of. LMAO you are scraping at the bottom of a barrel of excuses for that last ounce. Yeah if parker was taller.. if parker was stronger.. if parker woke up earlier that day.. if parker had a redbull before the fight.. Parker fought his heart out for 12 rounds... he failed. Accept it and move on. He got lucky in the 12th because Whyte got careless.. end of story. Stop reaching like a girl. Whyte performed all 12 rounds. You going to compare Whyte v AJ when he was and up and coming prospect with minimal experience to Ortiz as a contender a year ago who is 50 and competed at pan american games as a young man? Why would you do this? Oh you are being dishonest. Ok, continue.
Well then what are the reasons for a rematch with Whyte and Joshua? “IF Whyte’s shoulder was better, IF he had more experience” - aren’t you fanboys doing the same thing? And it’s the same thing regardless of experience. Somebody gets KTFO you have to build up again regardless.
Did not understand what you wrote very well. But Whyte 2015 and Whyte 2018 are worlds apart.. and his level of progression was greater than AJ progression since then. So comparing Ortiz of a year ago to Whyte 2015 is such a ridiculous comparison... I can't even comprehend why. I just assume you are dishonest and give you benefit of doubt. Because no one is that stupid.
You do if your "second biggest" PPV star is a threat to your "BIGGEST" PPV star. I think Hearn was fine with Whyte as long as Hearn could keep Whyte focused on fighting Wilder. Since Hearn hasn't been able to deliver Wilder, and Whyte is pushing hard for a shot at Joshua, I think Hearn has tried to keep Whyte as busy as possible. And, if Whyte loses, well, so be it. I think it took Whyte a while to figure that out. But Hearn isn't treating Whyte like he's Hearn's "second-biggest PPV star" by lowballing him and paying him less than Povetkin and Parker got. And he isn't exactly endearing Whyte to him by trying to get Whyte to fight Wlad instead of Joshua (which he was doing last week) ... pushing back a potential fight with Joshua even further. Whyte's done more than enough to earn a shot at Joshua. We all know that. Whyte wants the title shot Hearn obviously promised him. And now Hearn isn't being so nice to his #2 PPV star, lowballing him. Threatening to try to get Usyk a mando spot ahead of him. Clearly, Hearn is showing he was never eager to match Joshua and Whyte again. As of last week, he was still trying to get Whyte to fight someone other than Joshua.
Looking back a couple of years and these fighters were willing to fight Joshua for free. Now the champ offers these guys the fight , a decent purse and they all disappear moaning about it. Now these chumps want 50/50 splits because they know there is no chance of it happening and yet Joshua is the one ducking?.....oh purleeease
I believe Hearn has recently confirmed that should Whyte wait for the mandatory to be called it would be a 80/20 split. It’s a good fight, but truthfully, not many are clambering for it, so I can’t see Whyte being offered too much more.
