Citing the number of threads on this board probably ain't the best indicator

Boxing history is full of missed opportunities. My prediction is that this will be another one.

The fight was more interesting when Canelo had a belt. Now the only thing he offers is an opportunity at 10% of his cash cow-ness. Whoopie

well, when possible future business partners start to put your business out on the street, they obviously dont see any defensible position to take in excusing your ducking. the list of birds getting flipped at canelo, just keeps growing and growing.
even if they are in fact letting the fight build hype, there is no respect for canelo at the end of this road... even if he wins. if he wins, then he avoided ggg when ggg had everyone dressed in high heels, if he loses, then it will be obvious he was just avoiding a spanking despite all the fake bravado.

You do realise Golovkin is on a huge PPV event in the UK on Sky Box Office being paid LARGE for Brook and if as expected by many Golovkin wins and wins well then there will be the prospect of another huge PPV payday against Eubank Jr.

Meanwhile Canelo is fighting Liam Smith on Boxnation here in the UK and not many care. And then a similar fight being talked about with BJS later in the year, that also will be on Boxnation.

You are making it sound like Golovkin isn't getting paid and has no options, it's actually the other way around, Golovkin holds the power now, Canelo is being constantly questioned about Golovkin and criticised and having to defend his actions.

    Golovkins name is haunting Canelo.

It's getting to the point (if it hasn't already) that Canelo needs to fight Golovkin just to salvage what's left of his reputation.

Some of you amebas are clueless about what's going on. And the keyboard warriors here acting like boxing is the same as being in the playground where if somebody calls you out and you say no then you're automatically ducking(GGG ducking Lara?)

Anyone with any amount of common sense knows Canelo/GGG will happen. There's simply too much money out there for this fight and everyone involved is just waiting to get a share of it.

You will see the numbers, you will not believe how few people will watch this event. Brits, yes, and that's all.

Pardon my ignorance but are Brook and Eubanks huge PPV attractions in the UK now? How many PPVs has Golovkin sold in GB?? I know he did between 97K-150K here in the states.. :verysad

I don't expect the Liam Smith fight to do better than his fight with Khan, Cotto, or Mayweather obviously... But at least it gets his name flashed around in Europe again... Good marketing strategy imo. Get promoted in Euarope, pick up a belt, use it as bargaining power if need be.

Golovkin may be getting paid, but he isn't doing his legacy any favors, and it seems very much so that he and Abel are still thinking of a Canelo payday since they can't stop talking about him. :deal

Lol. Exposed this fool's double standard.

With GGG he is a boxing historian concerned with legacy but with Canelo he suddenly becomes an accountant. Lol, Canelo fans looking dumber by the minute.

No not really, Joshua is a huge PPV fighter here but the interest is real in the UK for Golovkin Vs Brook, they are both getting paid handsomely and people are talking about it. It's a huge fight here and it has everything that goes with a big fight.

Yet virtually nobody I've spoken to is talking about Canelo Vs Smith, I'm not seeing much interest, I've not even seen an advert so this theory of yours that Canelo is breaking Europe and being flashed around this part of the world is just not correct.

I've read Golovkin talk about Brook, the U.K. Fight fans and all sorts of pre fight nonesense but I'm reading Canelo whine and cry about "his true fans" and "not being dictated to by the WBC" and still trying to justify his disgraceful duck.

The balance of power has somewhat shifted, Golovkin does not need Canelo as much as Canelo now needs Golovkin, if Golovkin makes a warehouse full of money fighting bang average fighters and retires then Canelo will still forever be remembered for ducking Golovkin and Canelo knows this and that is the reason Canelo is still making statements about his "true fans".

Golovkins legacy will be whatever it is, haters will hate regardless what he does from here and his fans will continue to insist he is/was the real deal but this will haunt Canelo forever if he doesn't fight Golovkin, it has gone past a simple duck, this is Canelo's reputation as a Mexican and the Mexican people will not allow him to paper over that with Liam Smith, BJS and whoever else GBP can throw at them.

If you only fight bums, you will be criticzed for fighting another overmatched opponent when the public is demanding you step up.

When your resume is a deep as Canelo's (who btw built it by age 25), you will get a free pass or two by real fans.

Damn, if what your stating is true (I doubt it is) then they have really pulled a fast one over the Brits!! :rofl

    Brook-GGG is more legitimate than Smith-Alvarez? :lol::lol::lol:

The top MW fighting a WW is more legit than a former Jr.MW champ in Canelo against a current Jr.MW champ in Smith for you guys? OMG :patsch

You guys are being taken, straight up. Hook, Line, and Sinker. :deal
