Yes forgot McDonnell not seen him for ages. McDonnell would be my pick to lose next. I think all the others win there next fight. It then depends on the matchmaking after that.
I think DeGale will also work with Matchroom on his comeback. As fans we want the harder fights for our champions, a side effect of that as a result more lose titles but win or lose they should be applauded for going into big fights and having a go.
I wish more people said this. Too many people (boxers, media, fans) accept this ridiculous WBA trinket as a world title when it clearly is just a WAB money making scam. What's next - 8 "world champions" per division if the other orgs follow suit ?
Hearn only has AJ, Burnett and Yafia as world champs. McDonnell is a WBA trinket holder not a world champ. Hearn is already minted and with AJ will get much more so. So I doubt he's that bothered about losing a few champs.
British boxing as a whole have lost alot of champions in general over the last year... wasnt it up to 15 UK champions now maybe 6?? But alot of those were picked up fighting the low hanging fruits of their perspective divisions and then they fought more elite fighters.
Yes i think it was up to around 13 or 14. Off the top of my head i can think off: AJ, Degale, Groves, BJ Saunders, Flannagen, Jamie Mcdonnel, Selby, Ryan Burnett, Kal Yafai, thats 9, not sure if i have missed anyone.
That's all I can think of obviously when there was 12-13 there were people like Frampton and Brook who have since lost title, though I still hold proplr like them as same opinion as our world champions as they went into the deep end in their divisions to try and prove to be the best and they came up slightly short, were as some of our champions don't !
