He was a late stand in for Miller. He signed a contract, it was a voluntary fight. Usually agree with you here but it is what it is. Can’t see how he can complain. If he wins again then all cards will be in his favour. If Joshua wants a third fight, Ruiz can have 70:30 or go straight into a possible 50:50 or something in his favour against Wilder.

I think it goes against the integrity of the sport that a champion gets 10%. They've already jumped through the hoop of a small cut for the first fight. Rematch clauses containing 10% shouldn't be allowed IMO.

I hate to say it but integrity is in very short supply in this game

Yeah that’s a fair point. A minimum split rule for a champ would be a good thing.

LOL looks like Ruiz and Haymon are already pulling moves. As if they were just going to go nodding-dog like for a paltry amount of money.

Apparently 9 million is a small amount of money to this guy who spends everyday on a boxing forum...

Rematch clauses shouldn't be allowed anyway. They should be prohibited.

People say "voluntary defence" and Ruiz "given an opportunity" .... but actually, Joshua GOT PAID, there's no such thing as "voluntary". Joshua NEEDED an opponent, he needed to get paid, as did his promoter. This wasn't some act of charity towards Ruiz.
This wasn't voluntary work on Joshua's part.

It’s time for Billy Joe Saunders to actually do something with his career now , it’s all there for him - prove the doubters wrong.

I agree. Just appropriate after Hearns comments last year. And stance on working with people who have failed tests.
