Hearn interview with Kugan (after Ringside) - contradicts himself.

    Did anybody notice Hearn badly contradict himself?

    He said he and Groves hadn't sat down and talked about a contract renewal because IF Groves beats Froch he will want to be "a box office fighter" but didn't Hearn say on many different occasions that there are no box office fighters, only Box Office worthy fights/cards?

    That means, if Groves would want to be a box office fighter then Froch definitely is already (even though Hearn continues to say he isn't)

    There can be no doubt that Hearns has been a breath of fresh air and says the right things but the evidence is mounting up that he just like the rest of them. His angle is slightly different - they are my best mates, I want to deliver to sky, I want to do my best to get them the big fights etc

    There has yet to be a promoter that genuinely puts his fighter at risk fight after fight and let their career unfold as it may. Promoters are petrified of promoting fighters on a 3 fight win streak, losing the 0 on their record, not fighting in their country etc

    I don't blame them sometimes as the fans are fickle. Every loss means the boxer is over rated, a couple of straight losses means the boxer is shot etc

    Both the fans and the promoters need to start viewing boxing as sport entertainment. Entertainment but also a sport. A sport that's heart is competition.
