I dunno. He confirms that he didn't want to put AJ in the Wilder-Whyte contract. If he can give Finkel his word that Wilder gets Joshua after Whyte, why not put it in writing?

 

What a good episode! I’m still listening but I think Hearn is correct in that Wilder is not a big enough draw to offset the money that he would demand for the fight

I'd been pretty sure that we'd see it in the second half of 2018, notwithstanding all the conjecture. Joshua has always struck me as a guy who relishes the big, dangerous fights, and Deontay desperately needs some kind of launchpad to get his star off the ground. That said, these affirming noises from the two camps are very welcome.

 

In the full video Wilder mentioned that the fight should happen in America saying that it is the mecca and it is where the money is.

That's easy to dismiss as star-spangled flexing. He's also confirmed that he's willing to travel for AJ.

 

Hearn knows Wilder is the most dangerous opponent out there for Joshua and he will continue to delay them meeting for as long as he can.
